Required to perform all position welding and operate a variety of hand and air tools as needed. The Robotic Weld Operator must have excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and correct issues quickly and efficiently.\n\nWork Type (Onsite): This position will be based onsite at our Dexter, MI facility. This job opening is not eligible for immigration/work visa sponsorship\n\nShift Timings: 2nd Shift: 2:30 pm - 1:00 am, Monday-Thursday\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nOperate and maintain robotic welder to produce quality parts, performing preventive maintenance as required.\nAssist with equipment changeovers and demonstrate understanding of robotic controller functions.\nUpdate Rev Counters and work with the Work Cell Controller (WCC).\nProgram basic robot functions and collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on weld changes.\nPerform all types of welding, layout, fit, and weld components per blueprint specifications without fixtures.\nSet up and operate gas-shield MIG welder to meet blueprint specs.\nUse advanced knowledge of blueprints and welding symbols for job completion.\nRework products using various tools and reprogram robot if necessary for quality results.\nExecute inventory and computer transactions.\nPerform 5S duties to maintain workplace standards.\n\nKnowledge/Education:\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nA minimum 4 years’ experience as a welder and fitter\nAdvanced knowledge of blueprints and welding symbols\nMust have demonstrated skill level of wire feed (M.I.G.) welding\nMust pass welder certification test\nAttention to detail\n\nSkills and Abilities:\n\nAbility to use hand and power tools\nDemonstrates the ability to follow/provide direction and work in a team environment.\nProblem Solving ability\nThe mobility to navigate the manufacturing shop floor safely, with long periods of standing and walking.\nFrequent lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pulling can be expected.\nLong periods of standing and walking can also be expected in this position.\nMust carry 1 to 35 pounds intermittently: 35 pounds or more lifting device available\n\nWork environment:\n\n• Exposure to typical manufacturing areas is required and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection.\n\n• Manual dexterity and mobility to move within plant/area as assigned.\n\n• Exposure to climate conditions must be able to withstand periods of heat and cold.\n\nNote: This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications associated with the job.
