The Intake Coordinator is expected to hold and maintain an active clinical\nlicense in the District of Columbia.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nSupervise and provide day-to-day oversight, guidance, and support to Intake Specialists\nand Clinical Assessors involved in intake, assessment coordination, and discharge\nworkflows.\n\nCoordinate intake operations for outpatient mental health, day rehabilitation, ACT, and\nSUD treatment programs to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient processing of referrals\nand admissions.\n\nMonitor insurance verification, intake documentation, discharge paperwork, and case\nprocessing workflows to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.\n\nReview vetted cases and oversee assignment to Clinical Assessors to support prompt\nassessment scheduling and service access.\n\nServe as the primary administrative point of coordination for intake-related\ncommunication with internal staff, referral sources, and other authorized parties.\n\nTrack intake volume, census activity, pending cases, admissions, and discharges across\nprograms and prepare routine reports for leadership.\n\nEnsure intake and discharge records are maintained accurately in the EHR and related\nsystems in compliance with privacy, documentation, and agency requirements.\n\nIdentify workflow issues, support process improvement, and reinforce standardized\nintake procedures across behavioral health programs.\n\nCollaborate with the Clinical Director and program leadership to support operational\nefficiency, timely access to services, and continuity of care during admissions and\ndischarges.\nRequired Qualifications\n\nMaster’s degree or higher in counseling, social work, psychology, behavioral health, or a\nrelated clinical field required.\n\nMust hold and maintain an active clinical license in the District of Columbia in good\nstanding, as required for the role.\n\nExperience in behavioral health intake, admissions, discharge coordination, insurance\nverification, medical records, or a related administrative support role required.\n\nPrior supervisory, lead, or coordinator experience preferred.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office, electronic health records, and document management\nsystems used in behavioral health or healthcare settings.\n\nStrong organizational, leadership, communication, problem-solving, confidentiality, and\ndocumentation skills in a fast-paced, multi-program environment.\nWork Schedule and Expectations\n\nFull-time schedule during regular business hours.\nReliable attendance, punctuality, and responsiveness are required.\nMay be expected to assist with urgent intake coordination needs across programs.\nWork Environment\nThis role is based in an outpatient behavioral health
