The successful candidate will work closely with trading, risk, analytics, and technology teams to build data pipelines, improve trading data workflows, and support platforms used across front and middle office trading operations.ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain Python-based data applications used across energy trading.Develop scalable data pipelines for trading, market data, risk, and analytics teams.Use Spark / PySpark to process large volumes of structured and unstructured data.Integrate data from trading systems, market data providers, internal platforms, and external sources.Support data transformation, data quality, reporting, and analytics workflows.Work closely with traders, analysts, risk teams, and technology stakeholders to understand business requirements.Help modernise data platforms and improve performance, reliability, and scalability.Key RequirementsStrong experience in Python development within energy trading or commodity trading environments.Hands-on experience with Spark / PySpark.Strong SQL skills and experience working with large datasets.Experience building ETL / ELT pipelines and data processing workflows.Good understanding of trading data, market data, risk, P&L, positions, or trade lifecycle data.Comfortable working directly with business users across trading, risk, analytics, or operations.Strong understanding of data quality, data modelling, and performance optimisation.Contract-to-Hire OpportunityThis is initially a contract position with the intention to convert to a permanent role for the right person.
