The supervisor balances hands‑on technical knowledge with people leadership, driving output while maintaining safety and workmanship standards in a regulated manufacturing environment.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nSupervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of electronics assembly technicians and assemblers across one or more production lines\n\nAssign work based on production priorities, employee skill levels, and schedule requirements\n\nReview and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and work instructions to ensure assembly accuracy\n\nMonitor production output, quality metrics, and schedule adherence; uplift issues and adjust staffing or methods as needed\n\nEnforce IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, and other applicable workmanship standards\n\nConduct first‑article and in‑process inspections; verify solder joints, wire routing, connector terminations, and component placement against drawings\n\nTrain, mentor, and cross‑train assemblers on processes, equipment, and quality requirements\n\nConduct performance evaluations, provide coaching and feedback, and support disciplinary actions in coordination with HR\n\nEnsure all work is documented on travelers, routers, and production tracking systems per the quality management system\n\nEnforce compliance with all safety policies, PPE requirements, and ESD (electrostatic discharge) handling procedures\n\nParticipate in root cause analysis, corrective action activities, and continuous improvement initiatives\n\nCoordinate with engineering, quality, and planning teams on ECNs, material shortages, and process changes\n\nMaintain a clean, organized, and 5S‑compliant work area\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nHigh school diploma or GED\n\nMinimum 5 years of hands‑on electronics assembly experience in a manufacturing environment\n\nMinimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience directing production personnel\n\nDemonstrated knowledge of soldering techniques (through‑hole and surface mount), wire harnessing, cable assembly, and connector termination\n\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and bill of materials\n\nWorking knowledge of IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 workmanship standards\n\nProficiency with standard electronics assembly tools (soldering stations, crimpers, wire strippers, multimeters, oscilloscopes)\n\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead a diverse team on the production floor\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nAssociate degree or technical certification in electronics, electrical technology, or a related field\n\nExperience in defense, aerospace, or similarly regulated manufacturing environment\n\nFamiliarity with ESD control programs per ANSI/ESD S20.20\n\nExperience with ERP/MES systems for production tracking and labor reporting\n\nLean manufacturing, 5S, or Six Sigma experience\n\nPhysical Requirements and Work Environment\n\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the production floor\n\nAbility to lift and carry up to 35 lbs regularly\n\nManual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient for inspecting fine‑pitch solder work and small electronic components\n\nWork is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, ESD‑sensitive materials, and soldering fumes\n\nRequired use of PPE including safety glasses, steel‑toed boots, hearing protection, and ESD grounding equipment\n\nND Defense LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
