This role serves as the frontline owner of material flow, ensuring all material transfers, bin movements, and work order staging are properly scanned and recorded in the system. Material Handlers support receiving and raw material binning, stage materials accurately for production, maintain bin and FIFO discipline, and identify discrepancies between physical inventory and system data. By ensuring correct execution at the point of movement, this role plays a critical part in protecting inventory accuracy, reducing production delays, and supporting efficient, reliable operations. The position will safely operate a fork lift to move raw materials, in process goods, and finished products to designated areas.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaterial Flow & Handling\nExecute material movement between Receiving, Quality Control, Warehouse, Production, WIP, and Finished Goods locations\nEnsure materials move through defined, controlled flows and follow FIFO where applicable\nIdentify and escalate blocked, unclear, or non standard material flows\nScanning & System Accuracy\nScan all material transfers using RF Smart to ensure physical movements are accurately reflected in the system\nEnsure there are no physical material moves without corresponding system transactions\nSupport accurate system transactions for transfers, consumption, returns, and staging\nReceiving & Raw Material Binning\nAssist with prompt binning of received raw materials\nAssign correct bin locations based on material size, usage, and labeling standards\nPrevent materials from sitting unbinned or staged without system visibility\nBin Management & Accuracy\nScan materials into correct bin locations\nVerify bin labels and physical layout accuracy\nCorrect obvious bin errors immediately or escalate issues to Inventory Control as needed\nWork Order Staging\nAccurately stage materials for production work orders\nVerify correct material, lot, quantity, and location prior to staging\nEnsure all staged materials are fully scanned and visible in the system\nInventory Accuracy Support\nPerform spot checks and visual validations during daily work\nFlag discrepancies between physical inventory and system data\nSupport the Inventory Control Specialist by acting as the first line of defense against inventory inaccuracies\nRole Alignment\nMaterial Handlers are responsible for executing material moves correctly and scanning accurately\nInventory Control Specialists are responsible for auditing, reconciling, investigating, and improving processes\nThis separation of responsibilities ensures strong execution on the floor and sustained inventory accuracy.\nEssential Functions\nReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMust be able to read and understand work order instructions and schedules.\nMust be physically fit to lift up to 50 pounds\nCompetencies\nBasic math skills\nBasic computer skills\nAbility to read & write in English\nComprehension of written instructions\nAttention to details\nAn ability to safely operate equipment and necessary tools\nSupervisory Responsibility\nThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.\nWork Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts.
