As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work on high performance RF systems used for radar and flight termination system (FTS). Based on system requirements, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary engineering team of RF Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Software Engineers to derive solutions, perform verification testing, and troubleshoot any issues. A successful candidate will solve complex problems and complete hardware and firmware designs and perform hands‑on testing.\n\nRequired Skills\n\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, with 5+ years related experience.\n\nExperience with schematic capture and layout of complex mixed‑signal designs.\n\nHDI layout experience understanding the complexities and tradeoffs of complex high‑density layouts.\n\n+5 years hardware development experience using FPGAs, microprocessors, high‑speed digital circuits in embedded designs.\n\nIn‑depth knowledge of engineering standards, theories, concepts, and techniques relevant to electrical and electronic systems built to MIL‑STD‑461F and above.\n\nExperience generating basis of estimates (BOE) to produce scope and pricing for new work.\n\nExperience developing and publishing technical content from concept to completion, including test procedures, test reports, engineering analyses, white papers, operations/user manuals, and design review materials, in collaboration with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders.\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non‑technical stakeholders.\n\nStrong team player with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.\n\nExperience in mentoring junior engineers to complete tasks.\n\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US Government DoD Security Clearance.\n\nDesired Skills\n\nProficiency in electronic circuit analysis and design applications, such as:\n\nAltium or Siemens/Mentor Graphics PADS\n\nMATLAB\n\nSPICE/PSPICE\n\nKeysight Pathwave/Genesys/ADS, AWR Microwave Office or Ansys HFSS\n\nModelSim, Vivado, Vitis or Quartus\n\nExperience in Radio Frequency (RF) circuit modeling, analysis and design and/or Digital Signal Processing (DSP).\n\n5+ years of experience with FPGA designs, VHDL and/or Verilog.\n\nExperience with FPGA soft CPU cores similar to AMD Microblaze or Altera Nios II.\n\nExperience with designing/debugging high‑speed interfaces (1GE, PCIe, and DDRx).\n\nExperience with hardware & software codesign in Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoCs.\n\nPCB design experience, including mixed‑signal circuitry.\n\nExperience with antenna theory, design and measurement techniques.\n\nFamiliarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT).\n\nCoursework or direct experience with radar systems, including:\n\nRadar system design and analysis\n\nRadar signal processing and simulation\n\nUnderstanding of basic RF and microwave engineering principles, including:\n\nTransmission lines and matching networks\n\nFilter design and analysis\n\nHarmonic balance and non‑linear effects\n\nCascaded noise figure and signal‑to‑noise analyses\n\nRadio Frequency/Electromagnetic Interference (RFI/EMI) effects and mitigation techniques\n\nTime‑and-frequency‑domain relationships and analysis techniques\n\nActive US Government DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher.\n\nECS Federal LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of any characteristic protected by law.
