Job Description:Electrical engineers are responsible for designing and preparing technical electrical drawings and Bill of Materials.Responsible for the design and layout of custom equipment and field installed projects. They will be required to select components and materials needed to meet customer specific project requirements. The ability to communicate overall project concepts, layouts and component designs via complete drawing packages and submittal book data is the primary responsibility of engineering staff personnel.Preferred BackgroundApplicants should have experience in/with the following;Knowledge in all disciplines of the HVAC and/or Manufacturing industryDesigning electrical power circuitsDesigning electrical control circuits (AC and DC)Knowledge of the design of and construction practices of manufactured and engineered products and services such as;FansCompressorsHeatersControls (DDC and Relay Logic)PipingMain Job Task & ResponsibilitiesDesign and draw wiring and layout diagramsSelect electrical componentsDesign HVAC Sequence of OperationsCalculate MCA and MOCPCreate visual guidelines for construction purposesDraft technical detailsSpecify electrical connectionsElectrical back-pan detailed layoutsUse Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings, AutoCAD electricalCreate and store drawings electronicallyPrepare variations of designExplain concepts to customers, fabrication and installation workersPrepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specificationsPhysically observe each project in fabrication and provide input as project is in progressRedline/As builtEducation and ExperienceMust be proficient in the following software packagesAutoDesk AutoCADMicrosoft WordMicrosoft ExcelKnowledge in NECKnowledge with hazardous locations and its requirementsKnowledge in IEC / ATEX is a plusBSME or BSEE requiredRegistered Engineer in the State of TexasKnowledge of Electrical and Mechanical codes for hazardous areas and NFPA 496 systemsMinimum 8 - 10 years’ experience in HVAC industryKey Components xaygatp Effectively communicates relevant project information to team members Ability to understand directions and work on multiple projectsMust be willing to work overtimeAbility to read customer provided drawings and specificationsPossesses general working knowledge of structural designAbility to read and understand systems engineering drawingsMust be quality oriented with the ability to multi-taskPossesses leadership skills and teamwork attitudeStrong organizational skills requiredBenefits:401K & company matchMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision planPrescription planLife insurance and disabilityTo learn more about us, please visit us on any of the following:FacebookTwitterLinkedInOur Website
