Apply via Dice today!Job DescriptionElevationHR is seeking a Senior DB2 SQL Data Engineer for a leading American energy company, headquartered in Houston, Texas, engaged in hydrocarbon exploration. As one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas companies in the United States, this organization offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment with ample opportunities for growth and career advancement.The ideal candidate will have expert-level proficiency in SQL stored procedures and deep familiarity with the DB2 IBM iSeries system (not Z/OS, not mainframe). A strong background in database development and application coding, particularly in modernizing and converting RPG programs to SQL, is essential. This role requires extensive hands-on experience in IBM iSeries tools like Aldon, RDI, and ACS, alongside proficiency in contemporary development environments and languages such as Python, microservices, and VS Code IDE.Responsibilities:Develop and maintain SQL stored procedures and scripts in the DB2 IBM iSeries environment.Modernize and convert RPGIV, RPGLE, and RPG Free programs to SQL-based applications.Collaborate closely with application developers and analysts to integrate database solutions.
