Apply via Dice today!Role OverviewSenior Interoperability FHIR Delivery Lead responsible for architecting and operationalizing FHIR-based clinical data exchange platforms supporting CMS interoperability initiatives, enterprise analytics, quality reporting, and risk-adjustment programs.This role combines hands-on implementation expertise with delivery leadership across transformation pipelines, APIs, and standards frameworks to ensure scalable production-grade interoperability aligned with regulatory and business priorities.Core ResponsibilitiesFHIR Architecture and Clinical Exchange DesignDesign and implement FHIR-enabled interoperability services supporting:Patient AccessProvider AccessPayer-to-Payer ExchangePrior Authorization workflowsquality reporting, analytics, and risk adjustment use casesDefine FHIR resource models, implementation profiles, and transformation frameworksEstablish mapping strategies across HL7, C-CDA, and downstream FHIR delivery environmentsAPI and Transformation Layer DeliveryWork directly with FHIR artifacts including Patient, Coverage, ExplanationOfBenefit, Observation, and related clinical resourcesLead implementation of JSON / NDJSON payload exchanges and Flat FHIR bulk data workflowsContribute to transformation logic supporting interoperability pipelinesValidate lineage from source ingestion through consumer-facing API exposure layersData Platform Integration and Pipeline EnablementPartner with data engineering teams to enable FHIR resource generation from enterprise data platformsSupport development and optimization of ETL/ELT pipelines supporting interoperability deliveryEnsure consistency across ingestion, transformation, and consumption layersMaintain traceability supporting regulatory reporting and analytics readinessStandards Strategy and Regulatory AlignmentServe as subject matter authority for:US Core FHIRDa Vinci Implementation GuidesHL7 v2C-CDAX12 interoperability frameworksEnsure solutions align with CMS interoperability regulations and enterprise compliance controlsSupport secure exchange architectures meeting privacy and governance expectationsCross-Functional Delivery LeadershipCoordinate execution across business stakeholders, enterprise architecture, engineering teams, and interoperability vendorsEstablish technical alignment supporting implementation milestonesDrive issue resolution across mapping, transformation, and integration layersParticipate across design, build, validation, and production readiness phasesData Quality, Governance, and Observability EnablementDefine interoperability-focused data quality controls and transformation validation rulesSupport governance frameworks ensuring lineage transparencyEnable monitoring practices across pipelines and API exposure environmentsStrengthen observability supporting production-scale interoperability deliveryRequired CapabilitiesTechnical:Strong hands-on expertise with:FHIR resource modeling and validationREST interoperability architecturesJSON payload structuresFlat FHIR bulk data exchangeExperience designing ETL/ELT pipelines supporting FHIR transformationsAdvanced SQL supporting mapping validation and diagnosticsWorking knowledge of HL7 v2 messaging and C-CDA structuresFunctional:Strong understanding of clinical datasets and exchange patternsFamiliarity with claims, eligibility, and provider datasets across payer–provider interoperability ecosystems
