The NOAA Cyber Security Center is seeking a qualified Software Developer to provide operations and engineering support for a growing program. The Software Developer will participate in the modernization and transformation of the NOAA Cyber Security Center’s (NCSC) Security Operations Center’s (SOC) capabilities through the development and implementation of several cyber security stack products, including Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR); Security Information and Event Management (SIEM); and other tools as assigned. Furthermore, this individual will be participate in activities to promote development and configuration automation, integrations with the enterprise Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) solution (ServiceNow), and improvement of system monitoring capabilities.\nMust be a US citizen with current active DOD Secret or Top-Secret clearance.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nPerform development on cybersecurity system components as assigned, to include Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.\nDevelop integrations between cybersecurity stack components as assigned.\nDraft and maintain system design documentation for all assigned system components according to system design life cycle (SDLC) best practices.\nAnalyze customer requirements and provide best approach, feasibility of implementation, level of effort feedback as necessary.\nServe as liaison for professional services engagements, where available and as needed, to define and translate customer requirements.\nOther software development duties as assigned.\nBasic Qualifications\nSoftware development and scripting skills in multiple disciplines (Python, Javascript, Powershell, etc.)\nEntry-Level position\nBachelor's degree from an accredited college in related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.\nCandidate must be able to obtain an SF-85P Public Trust clearance from the NOAA customer.\nHave strong communication skills\nAbility to work autonomously with minimal oversight\nKnowledge of development on classified systems and the required security guidelines associated with secure facilities\nExperience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance (STIG, CIS, DSS compliance, documentation, etc.)\nActive Secret clearance and ability to obtain Top Secret clearance\nPreferred Qualifications\nWorking knowledge of SIEM platforms (ArcSight, Elasticsearch, Splunk, etc.)\nDistributed event streaming platforms (Apache Kafka, Cloudera, Informatica, etc.)\nExperience supporting Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) transformations.\nExperience supporting ServiceNow API development and integration\nProvided direct support to a Security Operation Center environment\nFamiliarity with task automation\nMust be able to work collaboratively with other system administrators, system engineers, and network engineers in a team environment\nOriginal Posting Date:\n2024-08-16\nWhile subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.\nPay Range:\nPay Range $53,950.00 - $97,525.00\nThe Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
