Senior Assistant Logistics
Mitsubishi International Corporation’s Materials Solution Divisional Company (MSDC) is seeking a Senior Assistant Logistics to support the PVC Department’s domestic and international business operations.This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, processing orders and logistics documentation, and serving as a key point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal teams throughout the transaction lifecycle. The Senior Assistant Logistics supports timely product delivery, accurate transaction execution, and strong customer service while ensuring compliance with applicable company policies and trade regulations.The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple logistics activities simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.Key Accountabilities65% | Customer Service and Sales SupportOrder & Shipment CoordinationReceive, review, and process customer orders and inquiries accurately and in a timely manner.Organize and coordinate domestic, import, and export shipments via sea, air, and ground transportation.Obtain freight quotes and assist in selecting cost effective and service appropriate shipping methods.Prepare and issue shipping documentation for domestic and international transactions and track deliveries through completion.Customer & Vendor CommunicationServe as a primary point of contact for customers and vendors before, during, and after transactions.Provide order acknowledgments, confirmations, delivery schedules, and shipment updates.Research and support resolution of customer questions, shipment issues, and delivery discrepancies.Coordinate with freight forwarders, trucking companies, warehouses, and other service providers to ensure reliable logistics execution.Transactional & Administrative SupportInput transactional accounting entries related to logistics and sales activities, including Contracts of Purchase (COP), Contracts of Sales (COS), invoices, credit/debit notes, warehouse invoices, and related adjustments, in accordance with established procedures.Confirm orders based on approved credit limits and internal guidelines.Organize and maintain transaction records and documentation in the Company’s designated storage systems in compliance with retention policies.Assist with preparation of shipment related forecasts and vendor coordination as needed.15% | ComplianceFollow company policies and applicable U.S. and international laws and regulations related to logistics and trade compliance, including shipping, hazardous materials, import/export, sanctions screening, and required government filings.Support compliance reviews and documentation requirements in coordination with the PVC Department’s Management, Controller, and internal Legal or Compliance teams.Assist with monitoring hazardous material classifications and preparation of related shipping documentation.Identify potential compliance issues related to logistics transactions and escalate appropriately to management for review and guidance.15% | Collections and PaymentsSupport collection efforts by contacting customers regarding overdue accounts as requested.Monitor customer credit availability to support order and shipment processing.Process customer and vendor payments accurately and in a timely manner, working closely with Accounting and the PVC Business Controller to ensure proper application and issuance.5% |Team Support and Process ImprovementProvide operational support to other members of the logistics team as needed.Cover responsibilities for other Senior Assistant, Logistics team members during absences as assigned.Assist with collecting basic market or customer information to support department activities.Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, documentation flow, and coordination with internal teams and external service providers.100% | TOTAL**Job QualificationsYears of Experience: 2-4 years of relevant experience in Domestic and/or International Logistics.Education:Associate’s degree [Required]Bachelor’s degree [Preferred]Languages:English [Required]Spanish [Preferred]Other Relevant Experience:Solid working knowledge of domestic and international logistics, shipping terms, and customer service practices.Basic accounting or transactional processing knowledge.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Teams; experience with SAP ERP or similar systems preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Availability to work overtime as needed during peak shipment periods or business needs.Certifications: Hazmat Certification [Preferred]Other InformationReports to: Director, PVC DepartmentCompensation: The expected base salary for this Houston, Texas, United States-based position is $64,061.27. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in the company’s short-term incentive program with a target bonus of 6%.
