This role will be responsible for ensuring high availability, reliability, and security of our SQL Server environments that support critical business applications. Basic SAP Basis experience is required, with the ability to support SAP system administration and collaborate with functional teams.\nMain Responsibilities:\nAdminister, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments;\nManage SQL Server clustering, Always On Availability Groups, and disaster recovery configurations;\nPerform monthly patching, upgrades, and migrations while ensuring minimal downtime;\nMonitor system performance and proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve database issues;\nImplement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies;\nCollaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure database reliability and compliance;\nProvide basic SAP Basis support, including SAP system administration tasks and coordination with SAP teams;\nSupport SAP environments by reviewing ABAP dumps, monitoring batch jobs, and assisting with basic performance tuning;\nAssist functional teams with SAP-related technical issues and system health checks;\nDevelop and maintain automation scripts and monitoring tools for proactive management;\nCreate and maintain detailed technical documentation and runbooks;\nParticipate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed;\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience);\n7+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA in enterprise environments;\nStrong experience with SQL Server upgrades;\nProven experience managing SQL Server clusters and Always On Availability Groups;\nSolid understanding of database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies;\nExperience with Windows Server administration and Active Directory integration;\nKnowledge of database security, compliance standards, and data encryption practices;\nExperience performing patching, upgrades, and database migrations;\nBasic SAP Basis experience, including SAP system administration, batch job support, ABAP dump analysis, and basic performance tuning;\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills;\nPreferred / Nice-to-Have:\nFamiliarity with PowerShell scripting, Azure SQL, or cloud-based SQL services;\nExperience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., SCOM, Redgate, SolarWinds, Idera);\nKnowledge of ITIL processes and change management procedures;\nExperience with SAP Security is a plus;\nThis is a 4 days a week in office position.
