This position requires Highly proficient mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills as well as experience with heavy duty manufacturing equipment.\nThis position maintains machinery used in the manufacturing of centerfire cases.\n$31.79 - $37.97 per hour plus shift premium, for any shift other than day shift.\nTypical Duties and Responsibilities:\nChecks machines to ensure operators have tooling and sufficient parts to begin the operation. Retrieves necessary supplies.\nPerforms mechanical set-up of all processes and machinery within the department (aluminum and brass products).\nInforms Technical Coordinator and/or Supervisor of impending problems and/or non-routine situations.\nChanges tooling on machines when changing from one product to another.\nResponds to operator and machinery problems on a priority basis and monitors all department processes to ensure maximum efficiency and quality.\nEnters into Win SPC any changes made to machinery or processes per Q.I. which affect Statistical Process Control (SPC) and uses SPC data as a diagnostic tool when troubleshooting mechanical problems.\nPerforms all maintenance on machinery as needed, performs diagnostic troubleshooting.\nPerforms preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis.\nMaintains all records that are necessary for scrap reporting, machine maintenance (DSC’s), and product accountability.\nWeighs wire scrap, brass, and aluminum cases, moves to scrap storage container and then to Shipping when full.\nPolishes punches and dies as needed.\nAssists Engineers and/or machinists with special projects (work orders, prototypes, etc.)\nAssists with overall department maintenance.\nOperates all processes and machinery within the department as needed.\nPerforms any other duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications\nMust have completed a 6-12 month Formax Setup training program\nMust have good communication and interpersonal skills.\nMust be able to learn department machinery and processes, and operate all machines within the department.\nMust be able to learn and understand SPC and Problem Solving Techniques and be able to use as diagnostic tools within 30 days.\nMust have a good safety record.\nStrong aptitude for troubleshooting\nMust have good housekeeping and organizational skills.\nAbility to work independently without continual supervision.\nMust be able to learn to use a computer and precision measuring devices within 30 days.\nMust be certified to operate a forklift within 30 days.\nMust be able to learn to read and understand blueprints\nAdditional Requirements:\nQualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, able to pass a background check and pre-employment physical & drug screen.\nMust have High School Diploma or GED\nMust not be prohibited from shipping, transporting, or possessing any firearm or ammunition under the Gun Control Act or Safe Explosives Act.\nMust not meet the definition of a prohibited person under 19 U.S.C. 922(g).\nSuccessful candidates must complete and pass a post-employment ATF background check and receive a letter of clearance.\nPhysical Requirements:\nPhysically demanding work: Position requires handling materials that vary in weight from 10 to 30 pounds on a continual basis and occasionally up to 50lbs.\nLong hours: 12 hour shifts, mostly standing\nGood vision required: Position requires good vision to inspect product for quality. Must be able to wear protective eyewear.\nManufacturing environment: Exposure to noise is present and occasionally employees are exposed to dust and fumes. Safety equipment such as protective eyewear and earplugs are required and provided by the company.\nMental Requirements:\nHigh attentiveness for safety and detection of problems.\nReading and math comprehension to understand and interpret quality information (SPC, charts, graphs, etc.), and to complete production reporting.\nInterpersonal communication skills to problem-solve and to function effectively as part of a work team.\nFlexibility to move between jobs and to handle many tasks simultaneously\nWork Environment:\nEmployee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives.
