Includes helping in the development of assembly methods, assembly line layout, and capacity analysis.\r\nEffectively utilize data, lean principles, and problem-solving methodologies to solve problems, prevent recurrence and propose solutions.\r\nSelf-starter who is able to work both independently and together in teams while improving quality and reducing costs.\r\nProvides support to Hortons Environmental and Quality Management Systems (ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and IATF 16949).\r\nMust be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, customers, and suppliers.\r\nPerform capability studies and use Minitab software to analyze data.\r\nLead in the development and maintenance of Process Flow, Process FMEAs, and Control Plans.\r\nInitiates corrective actions (i.e. 8Ds) use three Legged 5 Why tool to determine root cause for customer complaints, internal and external audit findings, and internal and external product failures/defects.\r\nConducts IATF 16949 and other internal audits.\r\nAssists with the development of PPAP documentation for customers and review of supplier PPAPs.\r\nAssists in designing or purchasing measuring equipment to meet product specifications relative to quality and automated gaging to improve throughput.\r\nAble to travel up to 25%, both domestically and internationally (i.e. customer/supplier visits)\r\nOther duties as assignedQualificationsQuality Engineer - Qualifications:\r\nDemonstrate an expertise in problem solving skills, including being able to identify, investigate and countermeasure manufacturing or supplier related technical and / or systemic issues.\r\nPossess the ability to be self-directed.\r\nAble to build effective teams and the ability to work with suppliers, plant manufacturing, and purchasing to ensure the deliverables are met.\r\nExperience with manufacturing processes for components.\r\nExperience with automotive components and functional requirements.\r\nQualified candidate will have a 4-year technical or business degree.
