Sween Company\n\nJob Description\nThe Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible to lead, motivate, and develop a team of mechanics to drive losses out of our systems, while leveraging Continuous Improvement tools, improving individual skills, and enhancing teamwork; also to continue our journey to a proactive maintenance approach leveraging predictive and preventative maintenance techniques and troubleshooting. The position will support our main plant in Eden Prairie, MN working to build a strong relationship with the Operations team.\n\nStandard hours for this role are 5am - 6:30pm Friday-Sunday.\n\nTrain on 1st shift for 2-3 weeks.\n\nDuties will include the following. Other duties may be assigned:\n\nPREVENTIVE/PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE\n\nImplement a world-class, preventive/predictive maintenance framework and best‑practices across\n\nWork with Maintenance Planner to ensure timely execution of Preventative Maintenance and other work orders\n\nMaximizing the maintenance teams’ operating efficiency, trouble‑shooting, root‑cause investigation, counter‑measure implementation and preventive/predictive maintenance activities while contributing to internal projects as well\n\nOversight of maintenance contracts and vendor relations\n\nCONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT/LEAN INITIATIVES\n\nFoster a collaborative culture with the Operations team focused on implementing sustainable improvements to maximize machine uptime/Overall Equipment Efficiency and continuous improvement of maintenance practices and fundamentals.\n\nDevelop department KPIs and utilize the data from Asset Essentials (CMMS) and Redzone (Operations Management tool) to improve department effectiveness (including safety, reliability, productivity and quality)\n\nLEADERSHIP\n\nProvide direct supervision and coaching/development to maintenance personnel direct reports\n\nHire, train, coach and review work of maintenance mechanics to ensure the maintenance program is being accomplished in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner.\n\nBUDGET MANAGING\n\nOwnership of maintenance budgets\n\nSupport capital project development and execution\n\nPROBLEM SOLVING\n\nTackles and solves frequent problems that can arise in a typical workday. Identifies a certain problem or situation and then finds the best way to handle the problem and get the best solution. Able to sort things out even when the prevailing conditions are not right.\n\nDELEGATION\n\nHas the ability to effectively and efficiently re‑assign tasks and give authority to the right employees, to help facilitate quick and easy work results, avoid wastage of time, optimize productivity, and ensure responsibility and accountability on the part of employees.\n\nHEALTH AND SAFETY\n\nParticipate in safety related meetings and training.\n\nCooperate with all aspects of the Safety Program.\n\nMaintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.\n\nEnforce safety policies and procedures (both in-house and regulatory) to decrease the potential for employee injuries on the job.\n\nFOOD SAFETY\n\nAssures team members are following Good Manufacturing Practices to ensure we produce safe quality food.\n\nWork to ensure all corrective actions from all audits are completed and reviewed.\n\nEnsures the company actively maintains the facility and prioritizes repairs to the facility and equipment based on food safety risk to product or process.\n\nComply with food safety regulations, and current Good Manufacturing Practices to result in the delivery of safe food products.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\n\nMinimum 5 years of hands‑on maintenance experience\n\nSome experience leading a maintenance team\n\nSubmit and receive satisfactory results on a criminal background verification and drug test\n\nPreferred Qualification (if Applicable):\n\nManufacturing industry experience required - Food industry experience strongly preferred\n\nLean manufacturing experience\n\nInfluencing and coaching skills\n\nAbility to structure ambiguous problems, analyze complex processes, synthesize data and results, and drive toward insight and solutions\n\nAble to identify significant deviations from the operating plan and budget and work with site leaders to identify corrective actions using appropriate continuous improvement tools (kaizen, visual systems, 6S, gemba, six sigma, LEAN, etc)\n\nProficient knowledge of food manufacturing, food safety, FDA/USDA, and OSHA\n\nBudget creation and management experience\n\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and experience with CMMS\n\nPhysical Demands and Work Environment:\nA. Must be highly motivated and willing to work in a fast pace environment\n\nB. Must be able to work well with various levels of employees and diverse cultures\n\nC. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.\n\nD. While performing the duties of this job, must be able to work in cool conditions of up to 50 degrees up to 20% of the time\n\nE.
