Maintenance Technician IV

The Technician IV is the highest-level field technician on the engineering and maintenance and team. This role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex electrical and mechanical systems throughout the facility. The Tech IV serves as a technical resource for less experienced team members and works closely with engineers and operations leadership to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliabilityKey ResponsibilitiesLead troubleshooting and repair of complex electrical faults across production equipment, power distribution systems, motor controls, and automated systemsPerform planned and corrective maintenance on high and low voltage electrical systems, PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, and instrumentationRead, interpret, and redline electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and ladder logic programsConduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actionsEnsure all work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and internal safety standards, including LOTO procedures and arc flash requirementsLead and participate in equipment installations, startups, and commissioning activitiesDevelop, review, and update SOPs, PM procedures, and as-built documentationMentor and provide technical guidance to Technicians I-IIICollaborate with engineers during capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvementsServe as the lead technician on multi-day or multi-phase projectsParticipate in on-call rotation and respond to critical equipment failures as needeQualifications7+ years of experience as a Maintenance Tech III, looking to step into a Tech IV roleExperience in a high-speed manufacturing or process industry environmentStrong working knowledge of PLCs (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell preferred), HMIs, and VFDAdvanced proficiency with electrical test equipment (multimeters, meggars, oscilloscopes, power quality analyzers, thermal imaging)Strong skills in reading blueprints & schematics for troubleshooting complex systemsExperience working with boilers, air compressors, and industrial production equipmentThorough understanding of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA electrical safety standardA leadership mindset and ability to drive special projects with minimal supervisionWillingness to travel to other Dempsey locations as part of strategic initiatives Manufacturing plant environment; exposure to noise, heat, and industrial equipmentRequired to wear appropriate PPE at all times, including arc flash PPE when applicableAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces or at heightsMay require occasional off-shift, weekend, or on-call workBenefitsCompetitive pay plus overtime and incentives3x12 shifts and half-day Saturdays - a predictable work schedule with flexibilityHealth, dental, vision insurance + 401(k) matchCareer growth opportunities within a thriving, innovative businessUniforms provided, along with paid time off and holidaysEducation· Minimum Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field· Experience with PLC platforms· Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, DeviceNet, Profibus)At Dempsey Uniform & Linen Supply, we’ve built our success on innovation, sustainability, and technology leadership. With over 60 years in the industry, we continue to invest in cutting-edge equipment and top-tier talent.
