Job SummarySUMMER HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT RECOVERY FACILITATOR -Sheffield City SchoolsVACANCY NOTICE & JOB DESCRIPTIONCATEGORY: CertifiedAPPOINTMENT PERIOD: Part time, Temporary, Summer dates (See Terms of Employment section below)Job Title: Summer Credit Recovery FacilitatorReports To: Summer Principal/Assistant SuperintendentJob Goal: Support students in the attainment of recovered credit for failed coursework.Qualifications: -Valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate in Secondary education (preferred).-Familiarity with Accelerate Education or other virtual learning platform (preferred).Duties and Responsibilities:Provide support as needed to students in Accelerate coursework.Monitor student progress and provide feedback as needed to ensure successful completion of recovered standards.Determines individual and class needs based on interpretation of student data.Establishes objectives and plans for individual student learning paths.Exhibits positive human relations skills.Evaluates the educational program and/or student progress.Communicates with parents/guardians, colleagues, and community groups.Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication.Maintains and submits records and reports.Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policy, and state and federal rules and regulations.Engages in personal professional growth and demonstrates professional ethics and leadership.Performs such other duties as may be assigned.Terms of Employment: Compensation $250.00 / day for 7:30-1:30 schedule.Beginning May 30 (planning/set-up day)-June 25, 2026 Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 1:30 pm.Number of days subject to change based on completion of student learning path.Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.The above statement reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the teacher functions of the job identified, and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent to the job.Nondiscrimination Statement: The Sheffield City School System does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, or age in its programs and activities, and provides equal access to the Boy Scouts and other designated youth groups.
