Korn Ferry has partnered with our client on their search for the role, Regional Construction Controller.Company OverviewThe Regional Construction Controller will be a key leader in the Accounting, Finance and Operations Group for this Chicago, IL based Construction Company. The position is on-site in HQ and requires travel to the various regions it oversees.ResponsibilitiesAct as business partner to regional operators and stakeholders, providing financial insights and strategic recommendations.Oversee the financial performance of regional locations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and alignment with corporate objectives.Maintain the company's system of accounts, ensuring accurate financial records, asset protection, and strong internal controls.Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.Oversee Work In Progress (WIP) and Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting, ensuring revenue recognition accurately reflects project progress.Ensure proper payroll accounting practices, including compliance with multi-state labor laws and union contracts.Support financial due diligence and post-acquisition integration for newly acquired businesses in the region.Align financial systems, processes, and reporting for seamless integration of acquisitions.Evaluate and improve financial systems, policies, and internal controls to enhance efficiency.Ensure compliance with credit, collections, tax, and audit requirements.Work closely with corporate finance and audit teams to maintain financial integrity.Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to finance teams across multiple locations, ensuring consistency in financial practices and operational alignment.Coach, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.Partner with HR and legal teams to ensure financial alignment with labor union contracts.EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 5+ years in construction accounting.Experience working in a multi-location, multi-company environment with operational complexity.Strong understanding of payroll accounting and non-union labor contracts.Proven experience in acquisition due diligence and integration.Exceptional financial acumen, including GAAP, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.Strong leadership abilities, with experience managing and developing finance teams.Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive financial strategies forward.Willingness to travel to the regionsSE#510802470
