Our mission is to empower and support individuals and their families through innovative programs and services that promote inclusion, independence, and a brighter future.Position Overview: As the SOAR Respite Coordinator at SOAR Special Needs, you will play a vitalrole in providing essential respite services to families with individuals with special needs. This positionfocuses on coordinating and executing two key programs: SOAR Social Clubs and the monthly SOARR&R Respite nights. Working under the supervision of the Executive Director, you will build and leadvolunteer teams while ensuring exceptional care and meaningful experiences for participants andtheir families.The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent organizational skills, experience managingevents and budgets, and a passion for serving the special needs community. This position requiresflexibility, including some evenings and weekends, to support program activities and events.ResponsibilitiesOversee all Respite (R&R) and Social Club programs and events.Plan, organize, and coordinate program schedules, activities, and special events.Develop and manage program budgets.Monitor and manage program expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers and program staff as needed.Ensure all activities are conducted in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.Coordinate event logistics, including locations, supplies, transportation, and participant needs.Communicate effectively with participants, families, volunteers, and community partners.Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend improvements.Support the organization's mission and represent SOAR Special Needs in a professionalmanner.Oversee SOAR CRM – DonorPerfect – ensure all volunteers and participants are entered intothe systemOversee making volunteer SOAR assignmentsCoordinate participant registration and family communicationEnsure proper volunteer-to-participant ratios and safety protocolsManage all promotion requests and facility requestsEnsure events are updated in timely manner on the websiteCoordinate with partner churches and facilities for respite locations Collaborate with the SOAR Executive Director in finding church partners for SOAR R&RTrack attendance and maintain participant records in the SOAR CRM systemSkills/ExperienceHigh school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.Experience in program coordination, event planning, recreation management, social services,education, or a related field preferred.Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Experience with budgeting and expense tracking.Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and basic technology platforms.Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.Passion for serving individuals with special needs and their families.Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.Experience working with individuals with special needs strongly preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and participate in recreational activities for extended periods.Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.Ability to travel to program locations and events as needed.BenefitsPart-time employees working 20-29 hours per week receive 5.5 days (44 hours) of PTO annually. In addition, part-time employees are eligible for 4 hours of holiday pay for the designated companyholidays.ScheduleThis position averages 20 hours per week and requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends,summer camp weeks, and special events throughout the year.
