We are looking for passionate problem solvers who want to elevate design, push boundaries and create a more resilient future.\n\nThe Chicago office of SmithGroup is looking for a Structural Engineering Intern to join our team.\n\nWorking with us, you will:\n\nWork on integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.\nPerform basic modeling assignments in Revit and produce structural engineering documents.\nCompile data and prepare design solutions.\nAssist in editing technical specifications.\nParticipate in design meetings.\nReceive mentorship from experienced engineers.\nVisit construction site(s) and/or completed project sites.\n\nAn ideal candidate has:\n\nCompleted at least their sophomore year or have graduate standing in an accredited structural, architectural, or civil engineering program with an emphasis on structural engineering by the time of the internship.\nRelevant course work in structural engineering.\nSome experience with Revit and the Microsoft Office Suite.\n\nIf you are interested in being considered for a SmithGroup internship, please submit a cover letter and resume on your application. Our 12-week summer internships are held between May-August.
