As a Senior Java Software Engineer you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. You will work with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that align with our business goals and client needs.\nWhat will you do:\nLead the design, development, and implementation of software applications to support 1st Choice business goals.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.\nPerform coding, testing, and debugging of applications to ensure optimal performance and reliability.\nMaintain and improve existing codebases and lead peer review processes.\nMentor junior developers and provide technical guidance to enhance team capabilities.\nExperience you will need to have:\n6+ years of experience in software development\n3+ years of experience in Java\n3+ years of experience in SQL databases\n3+ years of experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP services\n3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices\n3+ years of experience with Agile methodologies\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience).\nExperience that would be great to have:\nExperience in the financial services industry, specifically card processing.\nExperience with C programming\nEssential information about this role:\nThis role is on-site Monday through Friday. 1st Choice considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.\nYou must currently possess valid and unrestricted U.S. work authorization to be considered for this role. Individuals with temporary visas including, but not limited to, F-1 (OPT, CPT, STEM), H-1B, H-2, or TN, or any candidate requiring sponsorship, now or in the future, will not be considered for this role.\nThis is a full-time, direct-hire position, and no contract options for unsolicited agency submissions will be considered.\nAll offers of employment are contingent on standard background checks. 1st Choice and certain of its affiliated companies are federal, state, and/or local government contractors.
