YPIs work within the structure of our BASEcamp After School program to make each day a fun, safe, and unique experience for children in the Big Sky community, all while incorporating your own flair and activity ideas. YPIs are the primary caregiver for each student and are responsible for maintaining students’ safety, encouraging their participation in activities and within the group, and for helping them learn and grow throughout the week or school year.\nJOB DETAILS Education, Experience, Preferred Skills & Background Required\n1. CPR, First Aid, and AED certification or willingness to obtain certifications\n2. Ability to pass background check\nPreferred\n1. Prior experience working in an after school or childcare setting\n2. Experience working with children preferred, but not required\nPhysical Requirements Indoor and mixed environment: Our After School program occurs indoors at BASE, but outdoor programming is a big part of BASEcamp as well as other youth programs.\nPhysical Demands: Lifting 25lb+, ability to work in variable weather conditions, physical strength and endurance to maintain constant supervision of campers and to assist participants in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury), and to respond to first aid situations\nResponsibilities & Functions Set up, facilitate, and participate in group activities in a safe, fun, and educational manner.\nManage student behavior effectively and appropriately and seek support when needed.\nBecome a part of our BASE community, developing relationships with students, parents, and staff.\nSupervise a group of participants, ensuring that all participants are accounted for and safe at all times.\nBe attentive to and respond to participant, parent, and staff needs.\nHelp prepare, clean, and maintain Youth Programming spaces daily.\nCommunicate with all staff, including other YPIs and Youth Programs Manager\nSchedule After School program runs Mon-Thurs 3:00-6:00pmBASE Night's Out one Friday every month from 6:00-9:00pmOptions to add responsibilities and hours\nWe connect our community through exceptional parks, trails, programs, and facilities that make Big Sky a healthier, more accessible, and more livable place for everyone.\nAt the Big Sky Community Organization, transparency isn’t just a value — it’s the foundation of everything we do.
