{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"35421677fe2d4906427623c6","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/35421677fe2d4906427623c6","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/35421677fe2d4906427623c6","title":"Wire Installation Engineer","description":"Summary\nResponsible for the design and oversight of the wire installation, operation and maintenance of electrical components, equipment and systems.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nCreates a drawing list of assigned wire installation for project level STC.\nDefines wire installation requirements and definition for VIP/VVIP aircraft.\nDesigns wire installation layouts and drawings utilizing engineering drafting tools in 2D and 3D.\nReviews completed drawing packages from peers and approves them for release.\nDesigns the wire installation of electrical components and equipment with maintenance and operational functionality in mind.\nSupports installation of systems via liaison with modification facility, identifies root cause issues, captures redline updates, resolves design issues and updates drawings to meet schedule.\nInterfaces with customers (internal and external), FAA designees and vendors during entire project to ensure designs meet all requirements.\nParticipates in the estimating of assigned wire installation drawings to ensure accuracy of hours.\nParticipates in the scheduling of assigned wire installation drawings to ensure accuracy to major milestones and deliverables.\nPrepares design checklist, templates and other processes as needed.\nMaintains close coordination with project engineers to comply with schedule and cost of projects.\nMaintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.\nOther duties as assigned.\nJob Core Competencies\nCost Consciousness – Works with approved budget, develops and implements cost saving measures, contributes to profits and revenue and conserves organizational resources.\nJob Knowledge – Competent in required job skills and knowledge, exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills, keeps abreast of current developments, requires minimal supervision, displays understanding of how job relates to others, and uses resources effectively.\nProductivity – Meets productivity standards, completes work in timely manner, strives to increase productivity, works quickly and achieves established goals.\nRequired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nProven proficiency in AutoCAD for design and development of aircraft wire routing drawings for shipside and monuments to latest FAA design standards to meet customer requirements.\nUnderstands wire schematics, system block diagrams and topologies.\nExtensive technical knowledge of Boeing aircraft for VIP and/or commercial models.\nStrong working knowledge of My Boeing Fleet for OEM data sets.\nThorough knowledge of equipment/wire installation.\nUnderstanding of the certification and electrical design process.\nAbility to trouble-shoot electrical systems.\nCompetent user of CAD and data management systems.\nAbility to understand and derive multiple customer standard electrical system requirements.\nMust be able to provide layouts and program design reviews.\nAbility to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations.\nStrong communication, time-management and problem-solving skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.\nAbility to travel as required.\nAbility to work outside of core business hours as required.\nSpecialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities\nAbility to meet high expectations for meeting strict schedule, budget, and technical solutions.\nAbility to adapt to tailored processes designed for prototype engineering (vs. production engineering)\nAbility to locate and install wire provisions as required to support EWIS regulations.\nBroad and diverse knowledge of multiple interior commodities including shipside wiring, monument, ceiling panel wiring, and circuit braker panel internals, etc.\nSummary of Education, Experience & Certification\nBachelor's degree (B.S.) in Aerospace or Electrical engineering desired, minimum of five years relevant aerospace experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aircraft interior and/or VIP retrofit experience preferred.\nUS Person Required - this position requires special access. A US Person is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.\nThe expected WA salary range for this position is between $90,000.00 - $124,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, location, and other factors permitted by law.
