Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.\n\nJob Summary & Responsibilities\n\nDevelop new system architecture\n\nDetermine design requirements and solutions\n\nOversee industrial control panel and PCB design, layout, and bring‑up, ensuring compliance with signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and safety standards.\n\nCollaborate with team members in solving difficult control challenges\n\nSeek opportunities for improvements in manufacturing operations efficiencies to improve yield, cycle time and cost of production\n\nDesign and conduct experiments to characterize, troubleshoot, and improve complex lithography and optical inspection/metrology systems\n\nEnsure designs meet regulatory and industry standards (e.g., SEMI, NFPA, CE, UL).\n\nAbility to design and build test fixtures for component and subsystem testing\n\nComposition of procedures for construction or qualification of assembly\n\nWork with software to examine code, and write software requirements for system test functions\n\nWork with manufacturing and QC to improve testing, troubleshooting protocols, and alignment of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies\n\nWork with engineering to understand new designs and enable transition into high volume manufacturing\n\nInnovative thinker capable of new and fresh ideas for problem solving.\n\nTravel domestic and international up to 5%\n\nQualifications\n\nMust have 5+ years of increasingly responsible engineering and product development experience in leading high‑tech companies preferably engaged in the manufacture of advanced semiconductor equipment.\n\nA bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical (or equivalent knowledge) and 5+ years directly related experience\n\nBackground in development of semiconductor equipment including lithography and or optical inspection-based equipment a plus\n\nProficiency with design and simulation tools (e.g., Altium Designer, AutoCad, Solidworks, OrCAD, SPICE, MATLAB).\n\nExperience with embedded systems, PLCs, FPGAs, or microcontrollers is highly desirable.\n\nDetail, structure, and process oriented with experience in operating within a product lifecycle process\n\nExperienced working with key module and component suppliers\n\nExperienced in developing equipment with external partners to coordinate and collaborate total system requirements and objectives\n\nStrong sense of urgency, discipline and accountability\n\nStrong interpersonal skills, ability to resolve personnel conflicts communicate and influence across all levels of the organization\n\nStrong problem solving, technical skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate, quantitative, and timely analysis\n\nExceptional oral, interpersonal communication and presentation skills\n\nOut of the box thinker with creative solutions\n\nMust be able to work in the US\n\nWhy Join Onto Innovation?\nAt Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well‑being.
