Packaging Associate
Job Description
Packaging Associate prepares finished goods for shipment by operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging machinery in a manufacturing environmentKey Responsibilities
Machine Operation:Set up, operate, and shut down automated or semi-automated packaging machinery.
Quality Control:Inspect products and packaging for defects, ensuring items meet quality standards and specifications.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:Perform basic troubleshooting and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Packaging & Labeling:Load raw materials (e.g., film, labels, cartons) and verify labels, lot numbers, and shipping information.
Documentation:Record production data, maintenance activities, and inventory counts.
Safety & Sanitation:Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace complying with OSHA and company safety protocols.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education:High school diploma or GED certificate.
Experience:Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is often required.
Technical Skills:Mechanical aptitude for operating and adjusting machinery.
Physical Ability:Capability to stand for long periods, walk, bend, and lift materials, often including, but not limited to, 20--50lbs.
Attention to Detail:Strong focus on safety and accuracy.Preferred Skills
Forklift certification or experience.
Experience with specific packaging machinery (e.g., conveyors, labelers).
