You will serve as the leader of the engineering team responsible for multiple FBM battery products.\n\nLocation: This position does not support teleworking; the selected candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either:\nEnglewood CO (Relocation assistance available)\nCape Canaveral FL (No relocation assistance for this location)\nWork will be a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.\n\nKey Activities\n\nOversee the engineering team responsible for development and production of missile battery products\n\nProvide technical oversight for flight test operations\n\nOversee the engineering team responsible for manufacturing process development and improvement\n\nLead development testing and hardware qualification\n\nLead technical discrepancy resolution\n\nOversee engineering team's support of producibility, affordability, and obsolescence-driven re‑designs\n\nLead Failure Investigation and Root Cause Corrective Action implementation\n\nRequirements\n\nExperience with full product life cycle – knowledge of definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements; coordination and execution of hardware designs; development and integration of hardware for both custom and procured electronic assemblies in accordance with Lockheed Martin Space engineering process specifications\n\nAttend design reviews and provide technical feedback\n\n5+ years professional experience\n\nUS citizenship required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (no clearance required to start)\n\nBasic Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education\n\nExperience leading a technical team\n\nWilling and able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance, thus US citizenship required\n\nDesired Skills\n\nKnowledge of Silver‑Zinc battery chemistry\n\nExperience working with DoD customers\n\nPrior involvement on the FBM Program\n\nClose collaboration with SLD45 Range Safety Range‑Integration Teams\n\nMissile/Aerospace related experience\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint)\n\nFamiliarity with FBM specifications/procedures\n\nExperience partnering with SP/SPF Customer Partners\n\nExperience conducting Failure Review Boards and Problem Investigations, with a solid understanding of both execution and follow‑up processing\n\nPrevious Product Lead and Material Review Board experience\n\nAbility to communicate issues and additional resource needs to leadership\n\nExperience with subcontracted hardware suppliers\n\nDemonstrated project‑leadership/management experience across the full hardware life‑cycle including design, integration, and test\n\nExposure to requalification activities\n\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and with adjacent disciplines\n\nExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with technical and non‑technical audiences including design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)\n\nHands‑on hardware experience\n\nSecurity Clearance\nThis position requires a DoD Secret clearance.
