{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"34dbb7bee8b58129d3f308bd","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/34dbb7bee8b58129d3f308bd","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/34dbb7bee8b58129d3f308bd","title":"Process Engineer","description":"Position Summary\nResponsible for special projects and related engineering assistance in support of manufacturing operations.\n\nPrimary Responsibilities\n\nUtilize engineering disciplines to trouble shoot shop floor activities and improve shop floor throughput to reduce costs.\n\nInteract with Divisional Engineering on new jobs related to PPAP and process items.\n\nCommunicate foreseen issues with Technical Manager for discussion and possible resolution.\n\nInitiate job specifications for new jobs and provide this information to the New Job Specification Coordinator for entry into the Electronic Specification System.\n\nObtain and fashion samples for Boundary Boards and other process documentation.\n\nCoordinate and perform initial trial runs on new processes and equipment; note and track issues for resolution.\n\nInitiate improvements to existing systems; process machinery and equipment to support manufacturing functions and operations.\n\nCreate or construct bill of materials, process flows and process failure mode effective analysis (PFMEA).\n\nEstimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs to provide information for management decision.\n\nMake customer visitations for job product related involvement.\n\nInteract with plant engineer, industrial engineering, quality manager and plant chemist on job related functions.\n\nWork with raw material suppliers on quality-oriented problems.\n\nKeep abreast of technology improvements, recommend and justify implementation of equipment and process establishing cost reduction improvements.\n\nWork on continuous improvement programs and cost reduction projects.\n\nMaintain job records as required.\n\nStatistically analyze gathered data in test runs and make recommendations based upon analysis.\n\nWork with laboratory in conducting material and product test and evaluations.\n\nWork closely with shift supervisors and department managers to ensure proper quality operations of materials and equipment on new job start-up.\n\nProvide assistance to plant technical manager on assigned projects.\n\nMay, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.\n\nEducation and Qualifications\n\nBachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline with 4 years of process engineering experience, or equivalent combination of less education and more related process engineering experience of 5-7 years of rubber manufacturing preferred.\n\nAbility to focus and lead multi-disciplinary task teams and have previous experience in supervision in manufacturing.\n\nExcellent knowledge of manufacturing parts and processes.\n\nWill interact with all levels of management and must be able to communicate effectively.\n\nWork Environment/Work Conditions\n\nWork time will be spent in a standard office environment with manufacturing plant exposure.\n\nTemperature and noise may vary depending on external environmental conditions.\n\nLack of attention and carelessness may result in personal injury to self or others.\n\nCooper Standard is proud of its diverse workforce and committed to providing equal employment opportunities to applicants and employees without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, genetic information, physical or mental disability, age, veteran or military status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
