This is a safety sensitive position.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities Helps in securing, relocating and organizing materials, small tools, and equipment from and back to appropriate storage areas.\r\nKeeps work area clean by collecting and disposing of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.\r\nKeeps materials and tools clean and organized in an orderly fashion.\r\nAssists in pulling wire, lifting, hoisting and positioning materials.\r\nMay operate less complicated hand tools and equipment under direct supervision of a Foreman or more senior electrician.\r\nDigs trenches by use of hand tools.\r\nAssists in mounting and strapping.\r\nMay assist more senior personnel in less complicated electrical installations under close supervision.\r\nPerforms other project related duties and assignments as instructed by supervisor.\r\nMeets attendance standards and complies with late/absence notification procedures.\r\nDOES NOT WORK ON ENERGIZED CIRCUITS OR EQUIPMENT.\r\nPerforms other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, completion of projects and smooth operation of department.\r\nQualifications Requires basic mechanical aptitude and manual skills.\r\nCurrent Apprentice Electrical License.\r\nHigh School Graduate, GED or equivalent is preferred.\r\nSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.\r\nUtilize all power tools, saws, threaders, and knockout punches.\r\nComprehend and practice safe work procedures as outlined in CEC's Safety Policy Handbook, Haz-Com Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.\r\nOperate two-handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jack hammers.\r\nRead and interpret instructional manuals, work site directions, and written instructions.\r\nInstall and make branch wire terminations in junction boxes and panel boards.\r\nMust be able to work occasional overtime as required.\r\nCurrent Driver's License.\r\nMust have reliable transportation.\r\nWork Environment May work inside or outside while wearing required personal protective equipment at all times; possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather elements, dust, toxic materials, in restricted or confined spaces, and on slippery or uneven surfaces.\r\nWorks on ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, in ditches and excavations; works in and around single and multi-story buildings with all exposures typical of a heavy construction site, including portable sanitary facilities.\r\nPhysical Demands Personal weight and tools cannot exceed weight limit of ladders (Class 1-250 lbs, Class 2-300 lbs).\r\nMust be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head.\r\nLift 51 pounds, 20 times per day.\r\nConstantly move about on the feet.\r\nClimb ladders of all types.\r\nComplete full day assignments involving overhead work.\r\nMust be able to make transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to access all levels of the building, even if the only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction, but acceptable for use.\r\nPossess good vision, normal or corrected.\r\nPossess good hearing, normal or corrected.\r\nMust be able to positively identify different colors of wiring.\r\nMust be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts.\r\nCEC Companies is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
