Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.\n\nResponsibilities for this Position:\n\nROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nBuild and configure the prototype virtualization environment on the designated commercial server platform.\nInstall, configure, and troubleshoot virtualized voice, voice-recording, and supporting network services.\nDevelop and execute prototype configurations for high availability, virtual networking, virtual LANs, quality of service, and system backup and recovery.\nIntegrate wireless client devices, wireless routing, and voice call paths with the prototype environment and approved handset interfaces.\nSupport trade-study research and hands-on evaluation of candidate voice-recording, network-switching, network security gateways or boundary-protection solutions, and related commercial components.\nIntegrate and test analog telephony, audio, relay, and other legacy interfaces using appropriate analog telephony gateways, interface adapters, or test fixtures.\nCreate test procedures, collect logs and performance data, document defects, and support root-cause analysis.\nExecute integration testing in designated laboratory environments and document results against defined acceptance criteria.\nMaintain version-controlled configuration files, build notes, network diagrams, test records, and engineering artifacts.\nSupport development of technical-report content, including prototype design, test results, limitations, and recommendations.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nHands-on experience with Linux, virtualization, IP networking, managed switches, virtual LANs, power over Ethernet, and network troubleshooting.\nHands-on experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting containerized applications using Kubernetes or a comparable container-orchestration platform, including containers, service networking, persistent storage, and configuration management.\nWorking knowledge of voice-over-IP concepts, session-based communications, private-branch-exchange systems, and voice/audio troubleshooting.\nExperience developing and executing integration or verification tests for complex systems.\nAbility to interpret system drawings, interface-control documents, network diagrams, and equipment specifications.\nStrong written documentation skills and disciplined configuration-management habits.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with virtualization, containers, scripting, or automation using Python, Bash, or Ansible.\nFamiliarity with mobile-device integration, wireless LAN design, certificate-based authentication, certificate services, or secure wireless solutions.\nExperience with analog telephony, analog telephony gateways, interface adapters, audio capture, relay I/O, or industrial Ethernet interfaces.\nExposure to naval, maritime, enterprise communications, or lab-based integration environments.\n\nOur Commitment to You:\n\nAn exciting career path with opportunities for continuous learning and development.\nResearch oriented work, alongside award winning teams developing practical solutions for our nation’s security\nFlexible schedules with every other Friday off work, if desired (9/80 schedule)\nCompetitive benefits, including 401k matching, flex time off, paid parental leave, healthcare benefits, health & wellness programs, employee resource and social groups, and more\nSee more at gdmissionsystems.com/careers/why-work-for-us/benefits\n\nWorkplace Options:\n\nThis position is fully on-site.\nWhile on-site, you will be a part of the Progeny Systems - GDMS, Manassas, VA facility.\n\nSalary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.).
