Closing Date Position closes at 5:00 pm Mountain Standard Time on 4/23/2026.Position SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Tribal Information Services Director, incumbent is responsible for the production and editing of the Tribal newspaper, annual report, calendar, and special publications; direction of news coverage; management of the Drum’s website; and supervision of staff members. This position is a grade E14; pay is $68,004.00/annually.Education And ExperienceMust have a BA in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field, OR an AA in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related field and 3 years of experience in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or closely related field, OR 5 years of experience in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or closely related field, OR s uccessful completion of a Southern Ute Indian Tribe Apprentice program.Must have 1 year of supervisory experience.Must have 1 year of computer experience in the Mac OS X environment and Microsoft Word and Excel.Must have experience in newspaper production and knowledge of website design principles and computer-aided layout.Must be proficient in writing with attention to grammar, spelling, AP style and economy of words, and be proficient in editing and proofreading written materials.Must have general knowledge of budget development and administration.Must have a valid Driver’s License for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.Must pass a thorough background check including Criminal History, fingerprint check, and pre-employment drug test.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of PeopleSoft or other ERP financials module.Proficiency in Adobe CS/CC applications, including Photoshop, InDesign and Lightroom.CompanySouthern Ute Indian Tribe Job Location Ignacio, COHow To ApplyPlease apply online at:https://careers.southernute.com/pfund Hiring Preference TERO Preference.
