The position leads routine cycle count execution, investigates inventory discrepancies, and performs defined planning-support activities such as running planner workbenches, firming approved jobs, preparing job packets, and releasing work to the shop floor. This is a hands-on role that connects accurate inventory, disciplined ERP transactions, and timely shop-floor execution.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\n\nInventory Control\n\nComplete daily ERP-generated cycle counts for raw material, work-in-process, purchased components, and finished goods.\nVerify stock locations, perform physical counts, record results, and process approved cycle count transactions in the ERP system.\nReview variance reports, recount items above established thresholds, and escalate discrepancies for approval.\nInvestigate inventory variances, identify likely root causes, and support corrective actions that improve inventory accuracy.\nLocate missing or misplaced inventory, correct location issues through approved processes, and help maintain accurate bin and stock locations.\nSupport physical inventory activities, inventory audits, obsolete-material reviews, and inventory-accuracy reporting.\n\nPlanning and Scheduling Support\n\nRun assigned planner workbenches and review system messages, exceptions, shortages, and due-date requirements.\nFirm planned jobs and release work only within established rules, priorities, and approval limits.\nPrint, assemble, and stuff job packets; verify required travelers, drawings, material lists, and supporting documents are complete.\nDeliver released job packets to the appropriate shop-floor areas and communicate priority or documentation issues to Planning and Operations.\nReview dispatch lists and assist with routine updates, job-status follow-up, shortage identification, and schedule maintenance.\nPerform ERP data entry and routine planning administration, including maintaining notes, reports, and supporting records.\nEscalate capacity conflicts, material shortages, engineering/documentation issues, or schedule exceptions rather than making unsupported priority changes.\n\nOperational Support\n\nWork closely with Planning, Purchasing, Operations, Accounting, Engineering, and Material Handling to resolve routine execution issues.\nOperate forklifts and material-handling equipment safely when locating, counting, or moving inventory.\nMaintain an organized work area and follow all safety, quality, and ERP transaction procedures.\nProvide recommendations for process improvement and perform other related duties as assigned.\nRequirements:\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nOne year of experience in manufacturing, material handling, inventory control, production support, or a related environment.\nBasic math skills, including decimals, fractions, units of measure, and accurate part counting.\nBasic computer skills and the ability to learn ERP workbenches, reports, and transaction processes.\nAbility to read part numbers, job documentation, bills of material, and basic production information.\nAbility to safely operate or become qualified to operate a forklift and RF scanning equipment.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\n\nExperience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, production control, or job packet preparation.\nExperience working in a manufacturing ERP system; Syteline / Infor CSI experience is a plus.\nUnderstanding of raw material, work-in-process, finished goods, backflushing, inventory locations, and bills of material.\nForklift experience and familiarity with a high-mix manufacturing environment.\nBasic Microsoft Excel skills.\n\nESSENTIAL COMPETENCIES\n\nSafety orientation\nAccuracy and attention to detail\nAttendance and reliability\nComfort using ERP systems and standard computer tools\nProblem solving and root-cause thinking\nOrganization and follow-through\nClear communication and appropriate escalation\nAdaptability and willingness to learn\n\nPHYSICAL & MENTAL DEMANDS\n\nFrequent standing and walking throughout production, warehouse, and outdoor storage areas;
