It is every employee’s duty and passion to see that all guest needs will be handled in an efficient, gracious and professional manor.\nEducation/Experience\nHigh school diploma or General Education Certificate is required.\nKnowledge, Skills and Ability\nMust be able to read and speak English clearly.\nMust be able to multi-task effectively in a busy kitchen, restaurant, and public atmosphere.\nMust have the ability to apply appropriate resolution to stressful situations.\nMust read and understand the Employee Handbook.\nMust be able to follow policy and maintain professionalism in appearance and behavior.\nMust be of minimum age to serve alcohol in state of hotel operation.\nMust be able to compute basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.\nMust be able to pass TIPS Certification Test in order to serve alcohol.\nDuties and Responsibilities\nKnow and live the mission and values of the hotel brand and company. Maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor at all times. Greet every customer with a smile at 10 feet and a verbal greeting at 5 feet.\nAddress guests’ service needs, assist individuals with disabilities, and thank guest with genuine appreciation.\nDirectly responsible for guest satisfaction and event satisfaction scores related to F&B service, quality of food and presentation scores.\nOpening and closing duties including setting up/restocking necessary supplies and tools, cleaning all equipment and areas, locking equipment doors, etc.\nSet-up, stock, and maintain work areas.\nTake orders from customers, input orders into point of sale electronic system (ex: micros), follow-up with customers on quality, present bill, and process payment.\nPrepare food, coffee and other beverages, including alcohol.\nPrepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.\nKnow laws regarding sale, service, and consumption of alcoholic beverages. Enforce laws (ex: check Ids, do not over serve, etc).\nBe able to identify signs of guest intoxication and respectfully and professionally resolve situation (ex: serve food, no longer serve guest, order taxi – if not going to guest room, etc).\nAnswer questions on menu selection. Upsell products and specials.\nBus, clean and reset tables, and general clean food and beverage areas and other areas within the lobby and banquet space.\nUtilize dishwasher, as needed.\nCount bank at end of shift, complete designated cashier reports, resolve any discrepancies, drop off receipts, and secure bank.\nKnow and follow service recovery model. Report guest complaints to management.\nPractice safety standards at all times and keep the property safe for guests and fellow employees. Use wet floor signs, as required. Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to management.\nSpeak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriate to concerns of others.\nKnow and be able to execute Emergency Procedures.\nComplete opening and closing duties, as assigned. Complete the shift work Checklist as assigned.\nMust successfully complete education related to assigned duties and role; including TIPS and Serve Safe Training.\nOther duties as assigned.\nCompensation & Tips\nThis position offers competitive hourly pay plus tip-earning opportunities, with higher earning potential during peak service times, events, and high-guest-interaction shifts.\nWorking Conditions\nPublic, business atmosphere, located in building in which temperatures may vary within reason of indoor climates. Lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs. may occur and with assistance, moving up to 50 lbs.
