English Language Arts Teacher

Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Language Arts Teacher to join our team of educators at our learning center school. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching language arts to students grades third through 8th. We have subject specialists that the students rotate. There are 3 classes (3/4, 5/6, 7/8), twelve students for each combo class. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of experience working with students, and a strong background in copy editing and journalism. They will be expected to create engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the needs of each student. Duties: - Develop and implement effective language arts curricula for students in grades 3rd -8th. - Teach reading, writing, and grammar skills to students in a classroom setting. - Use various teaching methods and materials to ensure students are engaged and learning. - Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide feedback to students and parents. - Provide individualized support and mentoring to students who require extra attention. - Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine teaching practices and curriculum. - Maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Education, English, or a related field. - Experience working with students. - Strong background in language arts and literature. - Experience with curriculum development and state standards. - Excellent copy editing and journalism skills. - Ability to work effectively in a classroom setting and with students of varying skill levels. - Strong organizational and communication skills. - Ability to mentor and support students individually.
