The CWMD Office leads the Department's efforts to safeguard the United States against chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear (CBRN), and health security threats by coordinating with domestic and international partners.\nThis role offers outstanding growth opportunities for early and mid-career professionals. You will work alongside experienced Systems Engineers and Architects who will provide mentorship and technical guidance while supporting meaningful national security initiatives.\nWhat You Will Do\nDevelop and maintain system models using Cameo Systems Modeler.\nPerform capability analysis for systems and architectures and represent those systems through visual models and written documentation.\nSupport capability assessment studies, gap analyses, and risk assessments.\nAssist with annual technical program reviews and the Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process.\nParticipate in program management working sessions and support day-to-day systems engineering activities.\nDevelop architecture products using the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).\nInterpret government policies, regulations, and directives and apply them to systems engineering activities.\nCollaborate with senior engineers, architects, program managers, and government stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nRequired\nBachelor's degree.\n1-8 years of systems engineering or systems architecture experience.\n2-5 years of experience working across multiple systems engineering sub-domains.\n1-8 years of experience developing system models and producing multiple architectural viewpoints.\n1-5 years of experience using Cameo Systems Modeler.\n1-8 years of experience working with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and/or Unified Architecture Framework (UAF).\n1-8 years of experience reading and interpreting government policies, regulations, and directives and applying those interpretations appropriately.\nPreferred\nExperience supporting multiple projects while applying systems engineering and business process improvement principles.\nExperience with initiative management, business process development, business process reengineering, or strategic business initiatives.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with government clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.\nExperience assessing Chemical, Biological, Radiological, or Nuclear (CBRN) detection systems, threats, or related policies.\nExperience supporting the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office, Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), or other DHS organizations.\nClearance and Eligibility\nTop Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.\nThis role is restricted to U.S. person(s) (U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).\nLocation\nHybrid. Currently requires one day per week onsite at the DHS Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office located on the St. Elizabeths Campus in Washington, DC.
