Company Description Job Description As a Purchasing Agent at David Weekley Homes, you'll play a key role in helping deliver high-quality homes on time and on budget. You'll collaborate with vendors, builders and internal team members to source materials, negotiate pricing and make sure every detail aligns with our purpose of Building Dreams and Enhancing Lives. Job Responsibilities: Maintain accurate hard costs and pricing for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with Division goalsEstablish and maintain effective sourcing and category management programsManage Scopes of Work with internal teams and trade partners to drive efficiency and quality; coordinate with the National Category Management TeamAddress warranty issues and oversee Curated Programs with Preferred PartnersSupport plan updates and redline changes, participating in new floor plan and lot-specific walks to improve design and valueOversee the full bid process, ensuring proposals are complete, accurate, and competitiveNegotiate contracts and model discounts to secure optimal pricing and performanceReport category pricing and bid results to Regional and National Teams, providing recommendations for approval Qualifications2 or more years in residential construction operations or purchasing preferredExcellent negotiation skills with demonstrated success in this areaTrack record of building great partnerships with vendors and internal team membersStrong math and MS Excel computer skills are essential; exposure to JD Edwards beneficialAn ideal candidate will also possess the following intangibles: naturally curious, self-directed, adaptable to change, disciplined work habits, good organizational skillsBachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related equivalent experience Additional Information What We Offer: Come build your future with our winning team, recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" 20 times!
