Yard Attendant

Comprehensive Land Technologies, Inc., located in South China, Maine, is hiring for a full-time Yard Attendant. The Yard Attendant supports daily yard operations by safely moving materials, loading and unloading trucks, operating equipment, and maintaining an organized, hazard‑free work environment. This role requires a dependable individual with a Class B CDL, forklift experience, and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions. Duties include, but are not limited to: Operating forklifts, loaders, and other yard equipment with strict attention to safety protocols to load mulch, aggregates, and bulk materials for customers and delivery trucks Providing courteous, efficient customer service by directing customers, answering basic product questions, and ensuring accurate, properly measured, and safely loaded materials Safely driving Class B trucks for local deliveries, pickups, and material transport, including verifying load securement and weight compliance Maintaining an organized yard by managing stockpiles, labeling materials, and keeping traffic lanes clear to support safe vehicle and customer movement Performing routine equipment and tool maintenance, fueling, greasing, inspections, and reporting hazards or mechanical concerns immediately Assisting with material handling, yard clean‑up, and debris removal to maintain a clean, hazard‑free, and professional environment Securing loads, preparing delivery materials, and supporting staging and logistics operations with careful attention to load balance and stability Communicating with the operations team and management to coordinate customer orders, yard workflow, and safety expectations Preferred Qualifications Minimum of two years’ experience operating a forklift, loader, or similar material‑handling equipment Experience working in a commercial yard, construction supply, landscaping supply, or similar environment Familiarity with basic mechanical troubleshooting and equipment care Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced, customer‑driven outdoor setting while maintaining high safety and quality standards Requirements Valid Class B CDL with a clean driving record Strong teamwork skills and the ability to follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and equipment operating guidelines Reliable work ethic and the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including ability to lift and move materials weighing 50–100 lbs as part of regular job duties Ability to interact professionally with customers and represent the company positively Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen and comply with random drug and alcohol testing Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions CLT offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including employer‑sponsored health, dental, and vision insurance; life and accidental death coverage; short‑ and long‑term disability insurance; a SIMPLE IRA with dollar‑for‑dollar company matching up to 3%; paid holidays; and generous accrued paid time off (PTO).
