You will engineer solutions for mobile and modular laboratories in the Biopharma, Biocontainment and Pharmacy industries. Apply Mechanical Design principles to create expert environments that can be deployed around the globe. Utilize tools such as AutoCAD and SolidEdge to model the products and generate specification documents and drawing packages that facilitate fabrication, assembly, and testing. Support internal and external customers throughout project life cycles to meet time, cost, and performance targets.\nResponsibilities and Duties:\nDesign products to meet customer requirements through calculation and 3D modeling\nAssist Production and Service with troubleshooting during product builds and laboratory operation\nCreate and review component and product design/build drawings\nCreate and maintain assembly BOMs\nDevelop internal operating procedures and standards\nPerform tasks to assist other departments\nOther reasonably related duties\nRequired Skills and Abilities:\nMechanical Designer level with a working knowledge of basic mechanical design\nWorking knowledge of manufacturing theory and processes\n2D and 3D design competency\nCritical thinking and problem-solving skills\nTeam-oriented to achieve company objectives\nDetail-oriented with high degree of accuracy\nKnowledge of nationally recognized engineering standards, drafting standards and techniques as well as manufacturing materials\nProfessional manner with excellent interpersonal skills\nMicrosoft Office Suite, and Internet research skills\nExcellent organizational and process skills\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities\nMechanical ability and visual aptitude\nSolid work ethic\nGood judgement\nFamiliarity with project planning, milestones, and deadlines\nPreferred Skills and Abilities:\nAbility to design structural assemblies, HVAC and Plumbing systems\nFamiliarity with sheet metal, fabrication methods, standard fasteners, strength of materials, and construction /assembly methods desired\nEducation and Experience:\nTrained in a technical field (Associates Degree a plus)\n4 - 6 years Mechanical Design experience\nExperienced in 2D and 3D design and drawing using SolidEdge, Solid Works, AutoCAD or other similar Design software\nHands-on mechanical assembly, fabrication, or repair experience a plus\nSupervision Required: Minimal\nSupervisory Responsibilities: None\nWhy You’ll Love Germfree: We want to make sure that you can expect excellence from us as well so we provide the best work environment possible to allow you to love what you do.
