The Brand Videographer will play an active role in shaping and elevating the company’s digital presence and brand identity. Your work will help take Right Rope from start-up small business to global brand. You enjoy creating long form videos such as documentaries, explainers, interviews, how-to’s, and other informational / educational content. You also know how to build excitement and get attention through engaging short-form video content that stays true to a brand’s identity through interview clips, reviews, or behind-the-scenes previews. You enjoy creating down-to-earth, authentic video content that is high-quality and relatable rather than being highly-commercialized content. You’re talented in filming and editing and you have 3-7+ years experience honing your craft professionally, and it’s time for a new challenge! You find the idea of being in-house video production to be exciting, and may have a more diverse, extensive background to draw from and bring to this role. About Us Right Rope is a fast-growing, direct-to-consumer online rope retailer and we are starting to manufacture our own products. Opening up manufacturing creates even more opportunity for interesting content, including capturing slow-mo rope-strength break-testing on our new break-testing machine. We are entering a new phase where we want to increase this content and elevate our brand identity, including using video to enhance our talent attraction model – which is the driver for creating this new position. We are looking for the right person to partner with us on this exciting, two-fold mission! Responsibilities The Brand Videographer will work side-by-side with Right Rope’s founders and team leads to co-develop the brand story, content strategy, and video production planning. The Brand Videographer will then master-mind and perform all aspects of video production, editing, and post-production, including posting all finished content to a variety of eCommerce and social platforms. Product photography will also be needed as we add more products to our offerings and optimized product information on our website. Whole-heartedly engage with the vision and purpose of Right Rope and offer strategic thinking and creative direction toward the branding strategy. Be internally motivated to create the best video content with the goal of elevating the brand and meeting strategic business objectives. Take ownership of the video content creation process, showing leadership and partnership during the strategic planning, pre-production, production, and post-production phases. Take ownership of any additional preparation planning, story-boarding, materials-gathering, setup, lighting, sound and video equipment, needed to shoot and produce high-quality content. Take care and high attention to detail in the editing and post-production phase to produce high quality, on-brand content with little oversight, but be open to input and feedback to ensure the outcome will meet the intended vision. Advocate for any software or equipment needs, being conscientious of the production level intended for the business. Care for, and properly store equipment and tear down after video shoots. Keep media files organized, backed-up, and stored. Take the lead on posting video and photography content on various platforms as appropriate for the type of content being produced and write engaging and user-friendly copy for YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and other social media sites. Schedule Preferred: Full-time (40 hrs / week). To start, onsite 5 days / week and transition into a hybrid role of 1-2 days onsite as the branding strategy becomes more solidified and projects develop and allow for remote work. Full onsite is also an option for someone who desires all / or mostly in-person work. Qualifications Must provide links to examples of your work in video filming and editing. Samples of lifestyle or product photography, preferred. 3 - 7+ years of video filming, editing, end-to-to end video production, experience preferred. Highly-skilled candidates with less formal experience will be considered. Must be seeking full time employment, versus contract or agency work. Preference will be given to candidates with experience creating video content similar to the type we are seeking to create, and experience creating high-quality product photography is preferred. Desire to bring ideas to the table and collaborate on strategy and engage in deep thinking around video content and brand strategy. Passion and skill for creating engaging long and short form videos Skilled and proficient in operating camera and lighting equipment Fluent in Adobe Premier, Lightroom, Photoshop and/or similar software Eye for excellence in creating compelling product photography Ability to shoot and edit product photography to meet brand standards Be a self-starter with effective time management and communication skills Demonstrate our core values: Do the right thing.
