Obtain tools, parts and components for work assigned as necessary.\nSets-up, operates and verifies work on assigned machine in a manner which consistently meets customer specification, quality requirements and production standards.\nMaintains the work area in a neat and orderly condition in compliance with 5S standards.\nFollows all safety procedures, rules, and guidelines; and notifies the supervisor/team lead of any existing or potential safety issues.\nAssists in training new operators as required.\nPerforms basic preventative maintenance as required.\nFollows all standard operating procedures and notifies the supervisor/team lead of potential procedural improvements.\nAssists in other work areas when the workload permits or requires.\nPromotes teamwork by cooperating and supporting co-workers.\nDirects the efforts of assigned assistants as needed.\nAccurately, thoroughly, and legibly completes all documentation related to this position; i.e., lean record keeping, production reports, accurate time keeping, etc.\nObserves closely the operation of tools and machinery and notifies the supervisor/team lead immediately of malfunctions or maintenance that may be needed.\nMonitors product constantly to ensure that quality standards are being met and rejects product that does not meet quality standards.\nMachines: Moulder, Tenoner, Woodeye, CNC, Profile Sander, Lathe, etc.\nWhat You Bring:\nHigh school education or equivalent; course work in machine tool technology or a related area preferred\nAt least 1 year of CNC machining experience\nBasic knowledge of maintenance; ability to troubleshoot basic mechanical issues\nAbility to read blueprints and schematics\nKnowledge of tooling\nAbility to perform repetitive work requiring high levels of concentration\nDemonstrated ability to perform assigned job functions in a manner which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards.\nWorks safely and keeps area clear of potential hazards.\nAbility to bend and lift 50-100 pounds\nPrior forklift experience preferred\nAbout Quanex, A Part of Something Bigger\nQuanex (NYSE: NX) is a global, publicly traded manufacturing company primarily serving OEMs in the fenestration, cabinetry, solar, refrigeration and outdoor products markets.
