This role exists to create a single execution backbone that aligns engineering work with business priorities:\nInfrastructure cost reduction and waste elimination.\nStandardized, scalable Kubernetes-based platform foundations.\nSimplified and cost-aware observability strategy.\nAutomation-first operations for non-production controls.\nApplication modernization toward stateless, Linux-aligned deployment patterns.\n\nBusiness Objectives This Role Owns\nDrive cloud cost optimization initiatives from audit to remediation execution.\nLead platform direction for managed Kubernetes in a multi-cloud operating model.\nLead migration programs such as Kafka to Kafka-as-a-Service and ARM adoption.\nEstablish decision framework and rollout plan for Datadog alternatives.\nImplementation of governance and automation for non-production shutdown schedules.\nPartner with application teams to enable stateless architecture transitions.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nWork in Defining the cloud engineering operating model and role boundaries across DevOps, Cloud Ops, and R&D teams.\nBuild and mentor the initial cloud engineering team and hire pipeline.\nPrioritize roadmap initiatives into quarterly execution plans with clear owners and milestones.\nEstablish platform and automation standards for infrastructure provisioning, CI/CD integration, security controls, and reliability.\nLead cross-functional programs that require coordinated cloud, platform, and application changes.\nEnsure decisions are evidence-driven with transparent measurement and reporting.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years in cloud/platform engineering, SRE, or infrastructure leadership roles.\n3+ years leading cross-functional technical programs with direct business impact.\nStrong hands-on depth in at least two of the following: Kubernetes platforms, cloud infrastructure automation, cost optimization, observability, CI/CD systems.\nExperience across AWS and Azure in production environments.\nProven ability to translate business goals into technical roadmap execution.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nTechnical Skills\nManaged Kubernetes platforms: EKS and/or AKS architecture and operations.\nInfrastructure as Code: strong hands-on depth in Terraform or OpenTofu or Pulumi.\nCloud automation and scripting: Python and/or TypeScript for workflow and operations automation.\nCI/CD implementation: Git-based pipelines, environment promotion, release controls, rollback patterns.\nCloud security foundations: IAM, secrets management, policy enforcement, and least-privilege design.\nCost optimization engineering: rightsizing, idle resource remediation, schedule automation, and governance controls.\nObservability foundations: metrics, logs, traces, alert design, and SLO-oriented operating practices.\nPreferred Technical Skills\nConfiguration management and systems automation (Ansible or equivalent).\nExperience evaluating or migrating monitoring stacks (for example, Datadog alternatives).\nExperience with Kafka platform migrations, including Kafka-as-a-Service adoption.\nExperience enabling ARM64 migration and multi-arch build/deployment practices.\nExperience driving stateless architecture transitions and config externalization patterns.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience leading cloud transformation in multi-tenant or regulated environments.\nExperience with FinOps practices and cost governance operating models.\nExperience with platform migration programs (for example, KaaS, ARM, stateless modernization).\nExperience hiring and developing high-performing platform teams.\n\nLeadership Competencies\nSystems thinking with bias for execution.\nStrong ownership and accountability.\nPragmatic decision-making under delivery constraints.\nAbility to build alignment across engineering, operations, and business stakeholders.\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position is Negotiable .
