Vice President, Transformation (VPTr)Location: FlexibleReports to: CEOPartners with: CFO, Business Presidents, PE Sponsor Operating TeamPosition OverviewThe Vice President, Transformation (VPTr) is responsible for driving enterprise-wide value creation across the company's businesses. This role leads business process excellence, digital and AI enablement, and M&A integration to accelerate efficiencies and scale that lead to EBITDA growth, expand margins, and improve cash generation.As a key member of the ATG leadership team, the VPTr partners closely with company leadership and private equity sponsors to define and execute the value creation plan (VCP), ensuring both organic performance improvement and rapid value capture from acquisitions. The role is highly hands-on and execution-focused, with accountability for delivering measurable financial outcomes and preparing the business for a successful future exit.Key Responsibilities1. Enterprise Transformation & Value CreationDefine and lead the company's transformation roadmap aligned with the PE investment thesis and value creation plan (VCP)Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve operational performance, scalability, and margin profileEstablish and track KPIs tied to the transformation initiatives and roadmapLead regular transformation reviews with executive leadership and PE sponsors2. Business Process ExcellenceFacilitate structured methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, value stream mapping) to improve efficiency, quality, and throughputOptimize core business processes aligned with ERP system design and enterprise data standards. Prioritize and drive solutions where pain points exist across the organizationDrive cycle time reduction, cost productivity, and working capital improvementsDrive standardization of metrics, KPIs, reports, and dashboards across the organizationBuild alignment across the executive team and broader organization3. M&A Execution & IntegrationCoordinate master list of pipeline candidates based on inputs from CEO, CFO, business leaders, and PE sponsors to support M&A pipeline developmentLead operational due diligence, including synergy identification and integration planningDevelop and execute integration playbooks to ensure rapid value captureOwn Day 1 readiness and 100-day integration executionTrack and deliver synergy targets (cost, revenue, operational)Align acquired businesses to company operating model, systems, and culture4. Digital & AI EnablementLead the company's digital and AI transformation roadmapPartner with IT and engineering to establish scalable data and AI infrastructure, including data architecture, governance, and secure deployment environmentsIdentify and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across functions (e.g., engineering productivity, program execution, supply chain optimization, pricing, BD/capture, and back-office automation)Drive rapid pilot-to-scale deployment of AI-enabled solutions with clear linkage to EBITDA, productivity, and growthEmbed AI into core business processes and workflows, not as standalone toolsEstablish governance for data security, model integrity, and regulatory compliance (including CUI/ITAR where applicable)5. Performance Management & AnalyticsEstablish data-driven performance management systems and dashboardsDrive transparency and accountability through rigorous metrics and reportingLeverage analytics to identify improvement opportunities and track transformation progressNOTE: For clarity, this role owns AI strategy and implementation as well as M&A operational planning, execution and integration. Additionally, the role owns driving cross-organization efficiency and performance improvement initiatives that have been agreed upon by the ATG leadership team.Qualifications & Experience15+ years of leadership experience in operations, transformation, or general management roles in a defense businessProven track record in a performance-driven environmentDemonstrated success driving large-scale transformation initiatives with measurable EBITDA impactDeep experience in business process excellence (Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent)Significant M&A experience, including operational diligence and post-merger integrationExperience leading digital transformation and deploying AI/analytics solutions at scaleExperience in multi-site, multi-division, or complex technical organizations (A&D, industrial, or technology preferred)Strong financial acumen w/ the ability to translate operational initiatives into value creationLeadership ProfileResults-oriented with a strong bias for action and accountabilityHands-on operator with the ability to execute at both strategic and tactical levelsHighly collaborative, able to influence across functions and businesses w/o direct authorityData-driven decision maker with structured problem-solving capabilityExecutive presence with credibility among leadership teams, boards, and PE sponsorFull benefit package included.
