That's why we're focused on developing friendly home robots designed to integrate seamlessly into everyday life.Role OverviewAs Director of Product Safety and Regulatory Counsel, you will own the intersection of product liability law and technical safety assurance for embodied AI systems. You will collaborate directly with engineering and safety leaders to advise on risk acceptance and deployment decisions, while shaping the company's legal and public-facing posture around robot safety. This is a mission-critical legal role at the cutting edge of AI, robotics, and safety law helping define how society safely deploys intelligent machines in the real world. You will report to the General Counsel.What You'll DoProvide legal guidance on product safety risk, liability exposure, and deployment decisions for humanoid robotsPartner closely with Robot Safety leadership on risk acceptance, safety escalations, and regulatory interpretationReview safety cases, deployment readiness documentation, and internal risk assessments through a legal lensSupport public-facing safety communications, transparency reports, and safety documentationCollaborate with engineering leadership to address AI safety and cybersecurity risksEnsure alignment between technical safety claims, legal risk posture, and external messagingDraft and review product safety policies, disclaimers, and end-user safety documentationTrack and advise on emerging global regulations across AI liability, product liability, and consumer protectionSupport incident response, investigations, and post-deployment risk management Who You AreJ.D. with an active license to practice law in the United States15+ years of experience in product liability, regulatory, or technology lawExperience advising on safety-critical systems (e.g., robotics, autonomous vehicles, aviation, medical devices, or consumer hardware)Strong understanding of AI/ML systems, cybersecurity risks, or complex technical productsExperience supporting incident response, investigations, or safety-related disputesProven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, legal, and executive teamsComfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-moving, and novel technical environments Why this Role MattersYou will help define how humanoid robots are safely deployed in the real world-shaping not just company risk, but the broader legal and societal framework for embodied AI.Compensation and BenefitsSalary Range: $225K - $275K base + meaningful equityHealth, dental, and vision insuranceCompany sponsored 401K with matchPaid time off and holidays
