The position also includes mentoring structural engineering staff and driving business development efforts.\r\nSTRUCTURAL PRINCIPAL ENGINEER JOB DUTIES\r\nDevelops design fee estimates and proposals for all project types and ensures projects are delivered on schedule and within scope and budget.\r\nEstablishes, develops and maintains strong client relationships to support ongoing and future work.\r\nConducts business development activities, prepares and delivers proposals and presentations, and secures new opportunities.\r\nLeads structural design efforts for a variety of projects and provides guidance to project engineers and design staff.\r\nServes as a technical resource and mentor to staff, providing guidance on engineering principles, standards, and best practices.\r\nAnalyzes complex structural engineering challenges and develops effective, practical solutions.\r\nOversee the preparation of construction documents and details for structures conforming to Cannon standards.\r\nResponsible charge for the design and detailing of structural systems.\r\nEffectively manages quality assurance and quality control.\r\nCommunicates effectively with various departments, clients, and agencies.\r\nCoordinates with permitting agencies.\r\nPromotes a collaborative team environment through effective communication and leadership. Participates in professional organizations and community activities to support regional growth and company visibility.\r\nRequirements:Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering.\r\nActive California Structural Engineer (SE) license required.\r\nMinimum of 12 years of experience in structural analysis, design, and detailing of buildings and structures.\r\nMinimum of 8 years of project management experience, including scope, schedule, and budget oversight.\r\nMinimum of 3 years of experience managing engineering teams.\r\nProven track record of managing a wide variety of simple to complex projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering within budget.\r\nDemonstrated success in business development and client relationship management.\r\nAdvanced knowledge of the California Building Code and ASCE 7, with the ability to apply and communicate requirements effectively.\r\nExperience designing structural systems using timber, concrete, steel, and masonry.\r\nProficiency with structural analysis and design software such as RISA, ETABS, SAFE and SAP2000.\r\nProficiency in AutoCAD or Revit.\r\nWE OFFERcompetitive salaries, relocation assistance, excellent benefits package, remote work flexibility, and an active and positive team building, work environment.\r\nCannon is an equal opportunity employer.
