And we can't wait to see all that's to come.\nAbout the Role\nFareHarbor, a Booking.com company, is looking for a full-time Engineer with experience in PHP, JavaScript, WordPress, UX, design, accessibility, and modern web standards to join the FareHarbor.me team in our Denver office.\nThe FareHarbor.me team powers our managed website platform, which serves thousands of custom client websites. We're currently transitioning our platform to a Gutenberg-based theme architecture, and this role will play a key part in building the next generation of FareHarbor Sites — bringing together robust backend systems, a modern editorial experience, and scalable front-end design.\nWhat you'll do here:\nWrite clean (S)CSS, HTML(Twig), JavaScript and PHP\nCreate and build user-facing features to be integrated on thousands of client websites\nWork with project managers to create and build custom features for Enterprise client websites on occasion\nWork with Photoshop, Sketch, and the like to mock up page elements, typography improvements, etc for our design framework\nReview pull requests, and write technical documentation for our engineers\nHelp and share knowledge with other engineers\nHelp develop a robust design framework that enables easy superficial theming.\nRequirements:\n3+ years of experience working with large-scale production codebases and mission-critical systems.\nStrong PHP knowledge.\nStrong JavaScript knowledge.\nStrong WordPress knowledge, including experience building custom plugins or themes.\nStrong semantic HTML and CSS knowledge, including modern and legacy techniques for reusable components and layouts.\nGood understanding of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).\nA keen eye for good web design and user experience.\nSolid understanding of web fundamentals and performance best practices.\nExperience with Twig templating is a plus.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, demanding environment.\nMotivated, hard-working, and able to lead by example.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience developing Gutenberg blocks or extending the WordPress Block Editor.\nFamiliarity with React, including building custom editor components or block interfaces.\nUnderstanding of WordPress block-based theme development, including theme.json and block pattern systems.\nExperience migrating or refactoring classic themes to a Gutenberg-based architecture.\nKnowledge of block.json configuration, editor styling, and content synchronization patterns.\nExperience with modern front-end build tools (Webpack, Vite, Babel, etc.) in a WordPress environment.\nPassion for improving editor UX and enabling non-technical users to build beautiful, accessible websites.\nCollaborative mindset — able to work closely with design, product, and engineering to shape the future of the FH.me platform.\nBenefits\nMedical, dental + vision coverage\n26 vacation days, 10 sick days & 12 paid holidays per year\nGlobal leave benefit\n22 weeks paid parental leave\n2 weeks paid grandparent leave\nExtended care and bereavement leave\nLife insurance policy\n401k + employer matching\nSocial hours & events and team-building\nEducational Opportunities\nWellness benefits (Headspace subscription & wellness webinars)\nWork-from-home assistance\nHybrid friendly\nPaid volunteer hours\nSalary Range: $103,334 - $155,002, plus 10% bonus potential\nPlease note you must be authorized to work in the United States for this position.\nAt FareHarbor, we believe making experiences better for everyone starts with fostering a workplace where every voice is heard and everyone is empowered to thrive.
