The successful candidate will be self-motivated, responsible, mature and will be striving to excel in their profession..\nThe NC Programmer/MFG Engineer works with shop floor personnel to develop, evaluate, and improve production processing methods in manufacturing to achieve operational excellence with a primary emphasis on programming a wide variety of CNC equipment. Develops process planning, work holding methods and execution to ensure cost, quality and operational objectives are met.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelops CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs for various types of machines.\nAbility to program 2,3, 4, and 5 axes Horizontal and Vertical Machining Centers and both Horizontal and Vertical lathes.\nBroad understanding of machining technologies, materials, and processes.\nDirect experience with, Fanuc and Mazak controls is desired.\nAbility to program complex parts from both a supplied solid model and blueprints to generate a solid model from the drawing.\nExperience using NX CAD/CAM, Solid Edge systems is desired but not necessary. A working knowledge of Camworks software is also desirable.\nGenerate custom probing cycles and other in process systems to improve productivity.\nEvaluates program cycle time against estimates and standards to assure cost targets are met.\nWork with process engineers and machine operators to ensure manufacture of parts meeting all technical and quality requirements.\nSelect appropriate cutting tools to use along with the speeds and feeds.\nHave a good working knowledge of GD&T.\nAssisting machinists with set up, part, and inspection, questions.\nCreate tool sheets and set up instructions for CNC Programs.\nAssists in the evaluation and development of manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.\nAnalyzes and solves process and tool-related problems, ensuring or increasing productivity.\nPerforms all work in a manner that ensures safety of self and others.\nLeverages continuous improvement tools to drive improvements.\nEnsures compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Completes all required compliance training. Maintains knowledge of and adhere to Spectrum Machine & Designs internal compliance policies and procedures.
