They are expected to integrate into an infrastructure team with 40% operational support and 60% planned project work. They will work to position the organization for success, improving efficiency, accuracy, and compliance while increasing business responsiveness, improving security posture, and supporting aggressive growth.\n\nCompensation\n$75K - $80K yearly salary + 10% yearly bonus target.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nInstalling, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software and systems management tools. Expertise in managing an Active Directory domain, implement group policies, email support for Office365 environment; Installation and deployment of servers based on HP server platform, including blade servers, virtual connect; SAN and NAS knowledge\n\nBuild / Rack, configure, and harden physical and virtual servers (Windows and Linux)\n\nManage and monitor installed systems and VMware infrastructure\n\nConfigure load balancing for web and application pools\n\nUnderstand and configure AWS cloud infrastructure using EC2 and VPC\n\nProactively ensures the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability\n\nMonitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions and work with developers to implement those fixes\n\nMaintain security backup and redundancy strategies\n\nProvide technical user-level support to all departments connected to the network, including support of thin clients and Citrix virtual desktop environment, Strong VMware knowledge\n\nApplication support including but not limited to SQL, IIS, SMTP, FTP, SNMP\n\nKnowledge of network appliances, including network monitoring application such as Solarwinds Orion NPM, Zabbix\n\nKnowledge of backup application such as HP Data Protector, Veeam\n\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with end users, vendors, and managers\n\nIdentify and resolve hardware and software problems\n\nDefine user needs and recommend alternatives\n\nEnsure proper logging for all systems\n\nIntegrate systems into monitoring tools\n\nUnderstand basic to moderate networking fundamentals\n\nAdhere to information security principles and best practices\n\nPerform other duties as assigned\n\nQualifications & Requirements\n\nRequired Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure\n\nSome Cloud experience, preferably AWS\n\nVeeam Backup & Recovery experience preferred\n\nLinux proficiency (command line)\n\nCapability and capacity of various software products/communication utilities\n\nSolid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)\n\nKnowledge of the principles of data communications and telecommunications\n\nKnowledge of LAN/WAN concepts and fundamentals\n\nKnowledge of teleprocessing and telecommunications architecture\n\nEntry level knowledge of VMWare and virtualization\n\nEntry level knowledge of Windows administration\n\nEntry level knowledge of monitoring platforms like Solarwinds Orion\n\nEntry level knowledge of physical servers from compute to storage\n\nEntry level knowledge of AWS\n\nEntry level knowledge of Veeam\n\nPreferred Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure\n\nBachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as computer science, information services or related field, or certification\n\n1-2 years plus of experience in a network environment troubleshooting systems\n\nPerform all work and activities with honesty and integrity\n\nTake personal responsibility for productivity, quality, and timeliness of work\n\nEffectively communicate (and listen) clearly, professionally, politely, and persuasively in all situations; respond well and in a reasonable, timely manner\n\nChallenge conventional practices and use creativity and information to lead, innovate, problem solve, and implement ideas to contribute to the growth of the organization\n\nSupport and meet company/department goals and core values\n\nCollaborate with co-workers to achieve common goals\n\nProblem Solving/Analysis\n\nWorking Conditions\nMust be able to perform the essential job duties.
