They will be responsible for maintaining inventory between technicians and warehouses throughout the territory. The Drop Technician will typically install aerial and/or buried service drop cabling, and network interface devices (NID) to customer homes and businesses.\n\nJob Type: Full- time\n\nSchedule: Fixed\n\nOvertime: Yes\n\nFLSA Status: Non-Exempt\n\nTravel: Yes, within footprint\n\nRequirements:\nHighschool diploma required\nStrong computer skills\nAbility to use optical test equipment including fusion splicers and OTDRs\nAbility to operate a forklifts, trenchers, plows, and bore machines\nSafely operate a company vehicle\nStrong communication skills\nInitiative to work remotely with limited supervision\nStrong leadership skills.Overtime outside of normal workday hours may be required\nAble and willing to travel, and work nights/weekends\nAble and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions\nPhysically able to lift 100 pounds\n\nResponsibilities\n\nSurveying the work area to assess possible obstructions (water, gas, etc)\nMake contact with customers before starting any work\nUnderstanding of 811 paint marks\nInstalling FTTX drops to customer homes and businesses\nAssures customer services are restored after trouble ticket dispatch\nUnderstanding Conexon builds mapping\nOperate machinery including trenching, plowing, and bore equipment for burying cable\nAssigning equipment and material to warehouses, technicians, and customers\nAssuring proper inventory is maintained at each project location\nDocumenting assignment of inventory within inventory system\nIt is our responsibility as a company to meet timelines that we as a company may fall behind on.
