We are currently hiring a fully remote Inpatient Facility Coder for a great healthcare organization!Equipment is providedSchedule: M- F 8am-5pmDay to day responsibilities:Reviews medical records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures relative to the patient's health care encounterSelects the principal diagnosis and principal procedure, along with other diagnoses and procedures using UHDDS definitionEnsures appropriate DRG assignmentAbstracts appropriate information from the medical record based on the guidelines provided by the client and after a thorough review of the medical recordConsistently meet productivity and quality performance requirementsResponsible for utilizing applications to enter charts coded in real-time throughout the scheduled shiftAs an experienced coder, you will be responsible for providing coding and abstracting services for clients' inpatient chartsYou will use established coding principles and your knowledge and experience to assign diagnostic and procedural codes after a thorough review of the medical record to obtain the appropriate DRGAs a coding leader, you will participate in industry forums as well as support coding education within the teamSolicits clarification from the physician regarding ambiguous or conflicting documentation in the medical record using guidelines provided by the clientFlexibility in assignment over multiple clients to ensure meeting required classification hoursMaintains current knowledge of the information contained in the Coding Clinic, CPT Assistant, and the Official Guidelines for Coding and ReportingResponsible for keeping coding credentials up to date and activeRequired Skills:Inpatient Medical and Surgical admissionsMust have a minimum of 3 years of related Inpatient Facility coding experienceWe are looking for candidates that are currently working and coding IP facility charts in their current roleExperience coding at least Level II trauma charts at medium to large sized hospitalsMust be able to code multi-specialty IP chartsUnderstands medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, surgical technology, pharmacology and disease processesExtensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines, reimbursement systems, federal, state and payor-specific regulations and policies pertaining to documentation, coding and billingMust pass inpatient coding proficiency testCoding credentials required: CCS or CCS & CIC depending upon the client#J-18808-Ljbffr
