Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant (Floater)About the Role:My client is looking for a skilled Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant to provide essential administrative and secretarial support to their legal team. In this position, you will play a critical role in enhancing the productivity of attorneys and paralegals by managing key tasks such as document preparation, client communication, and accurate tracking of billable time. This position demands a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.Position Overview:As a Legal Secretary/Legal Assistant, you will support one or more attorneys and paralegals, handling a variety of administrative responsibilities. These include preparing and revising legal documents, drafting correspondence, managing client files, and coordinating schedules. You’ll also be tasked with arranging meetings, handling conference calls, and occasionally assisting with personal matters for attorneys. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.Key Responsibilities:Greet and assist clients and visitors, addressing inquiries and directing calls.Prepare, proofread, and revise legal documents and correspondence.Handle incoming and outgoing mail and manage telephone communications.Organize and maintain client files and filing systems.Schedule appointments, manage multiple calendars, and ensure deadlines are met.Transcribe dictation, format documents, and accurately input attorney billable time.Arrange travel itineraries and manage travel arrangements as needed.Act as a liaison between attorneys, firm personnel, clients, and courts.Assist attorneys with personal business matters and other administrative tasks as needed.Skills & Qualifications:A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in litigation.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).Ability to type at least 80 words per minute.Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to grammar, spelling, and punctuation.Proven ability to manage multiple calendars and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Experience with E-Filing in both Federal and State Courts.High level of attention to detail, initiative, and ability to work independently.Strong customer service skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.Benefits:Competitive salary.Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), paid time off, and more.Interested?If you are looking for a rewarding and dynamic role, please apply or contact me directly at Alexharbula@brewermorris.com.
