{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"333bd11fe7d3e6fdc718894f","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/333bd11fe7d3e6fdc718894f","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/333bd11fe7d3e6fdc718894f","title":"DevOps Engineer","description":"Sovereign Technologies is an USA based information technology consulting and software services firm providing cost effective services and solutions to clients in North America and Asia Pacific.\r\nJob Description\r\nDevOps Engineer / Greater Seattle area (Eastside)\r\nDesigning and building infrastructure to support our client's multi-region AWS based Cloud infrastructure /services\r\nCreate and use tools to monitor our applications and services in the cloud including system health indicators, trend identification, and anomaly detection\r\nAutomating system build outs and the application deployment pipeline using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Chef\r\nWorking with development teams to help engineer scalable, reliable, and resilient software running in the cloud\r\nEnhance pro-active monitoring of systems, services and hardware to solve problems before they are noticed by internal and external customers\r\nCreate and use infrastructure automation and configuration management frameworks to create repeatable and deterministic environments that provide visibility into the health and reporting metrics of the system\r\nProvide and improve incident and problem management coverage and support\r\nAnalyzing and monitoring performance bottlenecks and key metrics in order to optimize software and system performance\r\nProvide and improve analytics and forecasts for cloud capacity, troubleshooting analysis, and uptime\r\nParticipate in on-call escalation to troubleshoot customer facing issues (target rotation is once a week every two months)\r\nQualifications\r\nBS in Computer Science / Engineering or related field\r\n3 - 5 years Web Development or Operations background understanding concepts such as distributed systems, alerting, monitoring, logging, and incident management\r\n3 - 5 experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting LAMP environments (Linux, Apache, MySql, and PHP)\r\nUnderstanding of one or more programming languages such as Java, Ruby, Perl, Python, or C++\r\nExperience with highly available distributed Linux server environments\r\nUnderstanding of Linux core fundamentals, command-line operations, scripting, and service monitoring\r\nFirm understanding of version control systems such as subversion and git\r\nExperience with cloud infrastructure services a plus;
